Teaching summary

In this teaching, Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola address the common question of what believers should do while waiting for healing to manifest. They emphasize resting in grace rather than striving, focusing on identity in Christ, and trusting the finished work of Jesus. Instead of works, effort, or forced confessions, believers are encouraged to meditate on truth, receive God's love, and allow faith to be energized naturally. Healing, they teach, flows from union with Christ and inner rest, not from pressure or performance.

Introduction: The Question About Waiting

Pastor Leonard begins by addressing a heartfelt question from a follower who asked what believers should be doing while waiting for healing. Many struggle with the idea of confessing "I am healed" when symptoms remain visible. This creates confusion, pressure, and sometimes guilt. The pastors emphasize that this message is not about striving, forcing belief, or pretending, but about resting in grace. They reject teachings that produce shame, condemnation, or feelings of not doing enough. The foundation of the message is that believers are already saints, holy, blameless, and righteous in Christ.

Grace Over Works

Leonard anchors the entire teaching in grace rather than effort.

Ephesians 2:8-9- "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
He explains that salvation includes healing because the Greek word "saved" means whole, restored, and delivered. If healing becomes something we must perform, earn, or maintain through effort, it ceases to be grace. Grace is gifting, not toiling. Jesus did all the work; believers receive.

Point One: United With Christ

The first thing believers should meditate on while waiting is union with Christ.

Romans 6:4-5- "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection."

Leonard explains that believers are permanently joined to Christ. His death is our death, and His resurrection is our resurrection.

1 John 4:17- "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world."

Believers are not trying to become like Jesus; they already share His identity. As Jesus is, so are we now.

Point Two: Resurrection Power Within

The second meditation is that resurrection power lives inside believers.

Romans 8:11- "But if the Spirit of him that raised Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

Leonard emphasizes that the same Spirit who restored Jesus' battered body now dwells in us and actively gives life to our physical bodies. Healing is not an external effort; it is internal resurrection life.

Point Three: God Does More

The third truth is that God does more than we can imagine.

Ephesians 3:20- "Now unto him that can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."

Leonard explains that God's power is not activated by striving but flows naturally from union with and indwelling of the Spirit. God exceeds expectations because His power already lives inside believers.

Point Four: Faith Through Hearing and Love

Healing faith is energized through hearing about Jesus and realizing His love.

Romans 10:17- "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Hebrews 12:2- "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Leonard explains that faith grows naturally when attention shifts from self to Jesus.

Galatians 5:6- "For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love."

When love is realized, faith becomes energized. Faith is not forced; it is awakened by love.

Ephesians 3:15-22- "Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."

The power at work within believers is Christ, rooted in love, not in human effort.

Point Five: Agreement With God's Word

Leonard explains that believers should agree with what God says, even while symptoms remain.

1 Peter 2:24- "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

Spiritual healing produces physical benefit. Agreement is resting trust, not denial of reality.

Point Six: Rest, Praise, and Thanksgiving

Believers are called to praise while resting.

Philippians 4:6-7- "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Leonard explains that peace stands guard like a sentinel while believers wait.

1 John 5:14-15- "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."

Communion and Closing Prayer

The teaching concludes with communion.

1 Corinthians 11:26- "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come."

1 Corinthians 10:16- "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?"

The pastors remind believers that communion proclaims Christ's finished work. Healing flows from remembering what He has already done, not from striving to earn what is already given.

We hope this article blessed you and strengthened your faith in God's grace. While you are waiting, remember that you are already united with Christ, already filled with resurrection power, and already loved beyond measure. Share this teaching with others who may be struggling, and let God's peace guard their hearts as they rest in His finished work.
