Introduction: Meeting Jean
Jean begins her testimony with light-hearted humor, describing how God led her to speak that day, even using her phone instead of planned notes. She jokingly shares her tendency to be easily distracted, especially if she sees photos of her grandchildren, setting a warm and relatable tone.
Jean tells how her husband led her to the Lord 45 years ago, before they were even married. She hints at the miraculous story behind her salvation, saying it could fill a book. Married to a kind Italian chef, Jean shares that she enjoys the gift of hospitality. Her dining room table is always set for guests, symbolizing her family's constant readiness to serve and welcome others.
She introduces her family: four children, eight grandchildren, and three daughters-in-law. She explains that her true riches are not material but are found in her relationship with God, her husband, children, grandchildren, and church family.
Jean encourages those who may feel alone to ask God for friends who will pray with them and stand in agreement during hard times. Her early introduction sets the stage for the deeper testimonies to come.
Family, Faith, and Relocation
Jean explains how God moved her family unexpectedly from Kentucky, where they had deep roots, to Syracuse, New York. She had always desired to live there, even though her husband had firmly resisted the idea due to harsh winters. Nevertheless, God made it clear that Syracuse was part of His plan for their family.
She shares how God gave her children a global mindset. One son became a missionary, another went to Bible school far from home, and the family, though tightly knit, had to release their children into God's hands.
Jean's family had homeschooled their children for 15 years, creating an inseparable bond. Yet, following God's direction often requires personal sacrifice. Moving to Syracuse meant living with her in-laws, entering a season where she was surrounded by neither familiar friends nor a Spirit-filled church.
Jean humorously describes adjusting to life with her in-laws and stepping into unfamiliar territory. She affirms that even when transitions feel uncomfortable, God's assignments are always for a higher purpose.
God's Early Healing: Leukemia and Pneumonia
Jean recounts her first miraculous healing at 18 months old when doctors diagnosed her with leukemia and told her parents to prepare for her funeral. Instead, her parents went to their Baptist pastor, who prayed with them. When they returned to the hospital, doctors could not find a single trace of leukemia. The specialist said, "We don't know what happened. She's perfectly healthy."
Jean continued to face health challenges as a child, including multiple cases of pneumonia. Despite the hardships, God was preparing her for a life that would reflect His healing power repeatedly.
Delivered from Rheumatoid Arthritis
As a young mother with four children, Jean was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and told she would be on medication for life. Rejecting this report, she decided not to even tell anyone, but to quietly trust God.
One Sunday, despite being in severe pain, Jean felt compelled to attend church. During worship, the pastor's wife stopped mid-song and declared, "Jean, Jesus is the name above rheumatoid arthritis—you are healed." Jean had told no one about the diagnosis, yet God revealed it.
She fell under the power of God and got up pain-free. Later, medical tests confirmed that she no longer had rheumatoid arthritis. She boldly testified, even to skeptical doctors, that God had healed her.
The GBS Paralysis Miracle
Years later, Jean faced her most severe health challenge when she became fully paralyzed. She could not stand, walk, or even speak properly due to GBS (Guillain-Barré Syndrome). Doctors were skeptical and suspected her of exaggerating, yet she and her husband continued to trust God.
Jean recounts how, in the depths of this trial, she saw a mental image of herself worshiping God. Though she could barely move, she asked her family to stand her up so she could worship. From that point, the healing process began.
Doctors said she would be in a rehabilitation hospital for over a year, relearning basic motor functions, yet Jean declared boldly, “I will walk out of this hospital in five days.”
Through worship, faith, and refusing to agree with the negative report, Jean not only stood but walked out of the hospital on Thanksgiving Day — precisely five days later — fully healed.
Psalm 23:5 became especially significant as Jean later received a vision of Jesus preparing a table for her.
Psalm 23:5: "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over."
In this vision, the enemy sat gagged and bound at the table, unable to interfere, confirming her complete healing.
The GBS Paralysis Miracle
For seven years, Jean had celiac disease, where even a crumb of gluten would cause severe illness. Despite standing on scripture for years, her healing had not yet manifested. On an Easter morning, Jean had a powerful spiritual encounter. God showed her a mist of glory filling the sanctuary. While worshipping, she heard the Lord say, “You’re about to see how good I can get.” He then said clearly, “Go eat whatever you want.”
Jean knew she was healed. She took a step of faith, ate a cookie containing gluten, and experienced no negative effects. The healing was confirmed over and over in the days that followed, even as she ate lasagna and other foods she had avoided for years.
She credited the healing power to the finished work of Jesus, standing on:
Isaiah 53:5: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Acts 10:38: "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."
Understanding Healing: From Creation to the Cross
As Jean began ministering about healing, she sought a deeper understanding of how Jesus could heal before even going to the cross. God opened her eyes to the reality that healing is part of His original design.
Jean shared how God reminded her of John 5:30: "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
Jesus simply did what He saw the Father do. Healing was not an afterthought; it was always God’s will.
She traced it back to Genesis, realizing mankind was created whole and healthy. Jesus came to restore what Adam and Eve had lost. Even before the crucifixion, Jesus healed people by walking in authority and doing only what He saw the Father do.
Jean emphasized that the enemy brings sickness through lies and fear, but God’s truth is that we are designed for divine health. By understanding this truth, Jean grasped why she had received healings over and over, even when she didn’t have full theological understanding yet.
The Power of Testimony and Encouragement
Jean encouraged believers to share their testimonies boldly because testimonies are invitations for God to “do it again.” She challenged the congregation to never withhold what God has done, whether big or small.
She stressed the importance of community, especially after the isolation of the pandemic. She lovingly warned against staying comfortable with online-only church, urging the body of Christ to physically gather again.
Jean read:
Isaiah 61:1-2: "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn."
She clarified that this passage is not just for pastors but for every believer. Every Christian is called to preach, heal, deliver, and comfort. Church is where we are equipped to do the ministry outside its walls.
Jean also shared a story about ministering at a small church meeting in a barn, where God gave her words of knowledge about specific people wearing certain colors. Each detail turned out to be exactly correct, strengthening the faith of those present.
Closing Exhortation: Do It Again, Lord
Jean closed with a charge to the church:
We must praise God in advance. She explained the Hebrew word “toadah,” a type of praise where you thank God for what you haven't seen yet.
Jean illustrated that in her GBS miracle, she had been practicing “toadah” without realizing it, worshipping God before she ever saw the manifestation. She encouraged believers to practice this prophetic praise.
She reminded everyone of John 10:10: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
Jean urged listeners to recognize the enemy’s lies when they hear them and reject anything that is not from God, whether sickness, lack, or fear. She reaffirmed that believers were created in God’s image and that Jesus is not sick, confused, or in lack—so neither should His people be.
Finally, Jean pleaded with the congregation to share their testimonies actively because testimonies bring hope to those who don’t know God. The same God who did it for her will “do it again” for anyone who believes.
We hope this article blessed you. Share this teaching and testimony with friends, family, or anyone who needs to hear about the healing power and faithfulness of God. Remember, your testimony may be the spark God uses to bring someone else into their miracle. God bless you!
