Teaching summary
In “RELEASE THE POWER,” Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola teach that every believer already possesses the fullness of God’s life, righteousness, and resurrection power through Jesus Christ. The issue is not obtaining more from God, but allowing what is already within to be uncovered and released. The pastors explain that the Holy Spirit reveals truth to our inner man, renewing the “gateway” of the mind until the believer experiences what Christ has already given. They outline four scriptural ways this power is released: knowing His love, knowing our righteousness, continuing to hear about Christ, and fixing our eyes on Jesus. This message encourages believers to rest in Jesus’ finished work, not strive for what is already theirs.

Introduction: Gratitude, Unity, and the Purpose of Ministry
Pastor Leonard opens the session joyfully, greeting the viewers and affirming that sharing God’s Word with Pastor Lori is his “favorite part” of the day. They speak warmly about ministering together and emphasize their unity as husband and wife. Pastor Leonard explains that Pastor Lori’s presence brings a unique anointing and energy, even on days when she feels she isn’t contributing much. He stresses that because they are one in Christ and in marriage, her very presence strengthens the ministry.
The pastors then express sincere gratitude to their listeners for their encouragement, cards, letters, and messages. Pastor Leonard shares a touching story about receiving a beautiful song from a sister in England—one that moved him to tears because it proclaimed righteousness and victory in Christ. They thank those who support the ministry financially, explaining that grace preachers often avoid asking for money because they trust God, yet God uses people as “His hand extended.” Pastor Lori recounts hearing that phrase and being blessed by it, and Pastor Leonard tells her she has said it long enough that she can now “take credit” for it.
God’s Global Purpose for the Gospel of Grace
Pastors Leonard and Lori continue by sharing a powerful statistic they recently heard: a gentleman stated that 70% of the world still does not have internet access. Pastor Lori confirms that she heard this same statement. Pastor Leonard explains that although this number is astonishing, this reality is changing, expanding, and improving around the world.
This matters because the gospel message they preach—the gospel of grace—is meant to spread worldwide as accessibility grows. They emphasize that their goal is not just to minister locally in Fishkill, New York, but to reach the nations. This is why they are active on multiple digital platforms: YouTube, Facebook, their ministry website, and the NOW Television Network. Every expansion is intentional and serves the purpose of taking the message of Jesus Christ as far as possible.
Pastor Leonard explains that the message they preach is all about Jesus—His work, His effort, His toiling, His sacrifice, and His accomplishment. Jesus is God’s offering and sacrifice, and through faith in Jesus Christ, believers are fully reconciled to God. Pastor Leonard connects this to a foundational truth: once we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we become holy, righteous, and unblameable, anding in the presence of God in Christ.
He clarifies an important theological point: God never felt separation from humanity. Instead, we felt the separation. Humanity became overwhelmed with shame, guilt, and condemnation because of sin. Jesus came to remove that barrier. He took sin out of the equation and abolished the consciousness of separation by His sacrifice.
Now, through faith in Him, believers stand before God righteous, holy, blameless, and beloved. Pastor Lori reflects on Pastor Leonard’s phrase, “part of the inner circle,” and calls it beautiful. Pastor Leonard agrees and explains that God desires all believers to be included in His inner circle—there is no exclusivity in the gospel. God wants His people to experience His joy, His love, and His happiness.
This section highlights the heart of God for the world and the heart of the pastors for global outreach. Their ministry is an extension of God’s desire for people everywhere to know the truth of His grace.
What Jesus Accomplished: Reconciliation, Righteousness, and Inner Circle Identity
Pastor Leonard continues by teaching that once a believer puts their faith in Jesus Christ, everything changes—not because of effort, toil, or striving on the believer’s part, but because of what Jesus has already done. He emphasizes that Jesus’ work on the cross was complete and fully sufficient. Jesus was God’s sacrifice and God’s offering, accomplishing everything necessary for reconciliation between God and humanity.
The pastors explain that Jesus removed the shame, guilt, and condemnation that made humanity feel separated from God. Pastor Leonard clarifies that God Himself never felt separated from us. It was mankind who felt distance because of sin’s accusing voice. Jesus came to remove that barrier permanently.
Pastor Leonard teaches that through the finished work of Christ, believers now stand before God holy, righteous, blameless, and fully reconciled. He says plainly that when we placed faith in Christ, we became part of God’s “inner circle.” Pastor Lori reflects on that phrase, saying she kept thinking about it—how amazing it is that God wants us to be included. Pastor Leonard confirms this truth: God’s heart from the very beginning was to include His people, not exclude them.
He explains that God wants us to experience His joy, His love, His happiness, and His presence. The believer is invited into this closeness because of what Jesus has done. The message of grace is not about earning anything, but about believing and resting in what Christ has completed.
Pastor Leonard stresses again that there is no toil, no effort, no striving in the new covenant. Once we put our faith in Jesus, we receive the indwelling Holy Spirit, who empowers the believer to live victoriously. This becomes possible because of the inner transformation: the believer has died to sin and has been made alive together with Christ, raised in righteousness.
At this point in the message, Pastor Leonard references Ephesians 4:23-24 to show who the believer has truly become. He quotes the Scripture to demonstrate that believers are now to “put on the new man,” which is created in righteousness and true holiness. He explains that this happens not by work, but by believing the truth and allowing the Holy Spirit to renew the gateway of the mind.
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:23–24)
Pastor Leonard explains that this “new man” is not something the believer is trying to become—it is someone the believer already is. The process is simply learning to believe it, accept it, and think in harmony with it.
He then references truths from Hebrews 10, explaining that Jesus’ sacrifice removed the “evil consciousness of sin.” In that chapter, Scripture reveals that the Holy Spirit Himself testifies that believers have been perfected forever through the offering of Christ. Though he paraphrases during the sermon, the meaning aligns with this verse:
“Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,” (Hebrews 10:15) And to reflect the teaching that Jesus’ sacrifice should remove sin-consciousness:
“For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.”(Hebrews 10:2)
Pastor Leonard continues explaining that poor teaching and poor hermeneutics keep believers feeling like sinners even though Scripture clearly says we are now the righteousness of God in Christ. He emphasizes again that after the resurrection, everything changed. Before the resurrection, all humanity was under sin. After Christ was raised, believers were raised in righteousness with Him.
Because of this truth, Pastor Leonard declares that believers are now “slaves to righteousness.” Not by force, but by new nature. He says that those who understand grace do not desire sin. Sin is no longer attractive because the believer has been transformed on the inside. This is why legalistic accusations about “sloppy grace” or “greasy grace” miss the point. Grace is not a license to sin—it is the freedom from sin.
In this section, the pastors firmly establish the identity of every believer:
- Reconciled to God
- Righteous and holy
- Blameless and above condemnation
- Empowered by the Holy Spirit
- Included in God’s inner circle
- Dead to sin and alive to righteousness
- Free from guilt and shame
- Invited to rest, not toil
Everything flows from the finished work of Jesus Christ.
The Empowered Life: New Spirit, New Nature, New Power
Pastor Leonard continues by explaining that the believer’s transformation is not partial or incomplete; it is a full spiritual rebirth. He reviews the truths they covered in their previous session—specifically, the three foundational things believers already possess in Christ. These truths set the stage for understanding how power is released in the life of a believer.
First, he teaches that we have a new spirit. Humanity is fundamentally a spiritual being. Every person possesses:
- A -spirit- (the true inner man)
- A -soul- (mind, will, emotions)
- A -body- (the “flesh suit,” as he calls it)
Pastor Leonard calls the soul “the gateway”—the doorway between the inner spiritual man and the physical outward life. This gateway must be renewed so that the truth within the believer can flow out into the natural realm.
Second, he teaches that we now have Christ’s exact nature. Everything Jesus is—His character, nature, righteousness, and holiness—is what the believer now possesses. Pastor Leonard emphasizes that believers are joint-heirs with Jesus, meaning that everything Christ has been given, we have been given.
Third, he teaches that believers already possess His power—specifically, resurrection power. This is not symbolic or theoretical power; it is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. This power is not earned but already deposited within the believer’s new spirit.
Pastor Leonard explains that this resurrection power:
- Brings healing to the physical body
- Flows outward when the gateway is renewed
- Is activated simply by believing the truth of what Christ has done
- Requires no toil, effort, striving, or self-work
- Operates from rest, not labor
He makes it clear that the work has already been completed by Jesus. The believer’s role is not to obtain power but to release what already resides within.
Pastor Leonard and Pastor Lori then transition to the central question of this teaching: If we already have a new spirit, a new nature, and resurrection power, how is this power released or revealed? This leads directly into the next section of the sermon.
How the Power Is Released: 1 Corinthians 2:10–16
Pastor Leonard and Pastor Lori now move into the core Scripture of this teaching: 1 Corinthians 2:10-16, which explains exactly how the power already within the believer becomes uncovered, released, and experienced. Pastor Lori reads the passage aloud from the King James Version, her favorite translation.
To follow your instructions, here is the full passage again exactly as the KJV states it, since it is referenced and explained throughout this section:
“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
After the reading, Pastor Leonard explains that this portion of Scripture is absolutely central for understanding how what is already within us becomes revealed. He begins walking through it phrase by phrase.
He highlights the opening: “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit.” Pastor Leonard teaches that everything God has freely given us is revealed—not earned—by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit searches the “deep things of God,” and because He lives in us, He also reveals those deep things to us.
Pastor Leonard emphasizes the truth of this line: “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?” He explains that the spirit of man knows the inner truths about himself just as the Spirit of God knows the truths of God. Because God’s Spirit now dwells within the believer, our inner spirit knows what God’s Spirit knows.
He pauses and highlights this point with joy: “Our spirit knows what God knows because He is in us.” Pastor Lori agrees enthusiastically.
Pastor Leonard then goes to the next line: “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God…” He explains that we have already been given God’s Spirit, and the purpose of the Spirit being given is clearly written in the verse:
“…that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”
He repeats the word “freely,” stressing that there is no work, no effort, no toiling required to earn anything from God. Everything in the new covenant is freely given and freely revealed.
He explains that the only thing needed is for the “gateway”—the mind—to align with what the spirit already knows. When the gateway is renewed, what the Holy Spirit uncovers in the inner man flows outward into the believer’s natural life.
Pastor Lori continues reading: “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth…” Pastor Leonard clarifies that spiritual truths cannot be taught by human reasoning, logic, or intellectualism. Only the Holy Spirit teaches spiritual truth, and He teaches it by revealing Jesus and unveiling what Christ has already done.
They emphasize one of the most important lines: “The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God.” Pastor Leonard explains that the natural man—meaning the unrenewed mindset—cannot receive or understand what God has given. Spiritual truths are spiritually discerned, not mentally achieved.
Pastor Lori then reads the closing line: “But we have the mind of Christ.” Pastor Leonard becomes excited at this point. He explains that this Scripture does not say we will have the mind of Christ someday, or that we need to ask for it, or that we must strive for it. It says we have it right now.
The problem is not the absence of Christ’s mind. The problem is that believers must renew the gateway—the mind—to align with what their spirit already possesses. Once the gateway aligns, what God’s Spirit knows becomes what we know, and what we know becomes what we experience in daily life.
This passage forms the foundation of everything that follows: how the Holy Spirit “uncovers” the truths of God, how faith comes, and how power is released within the believer’s life.
Word Study: “Apochalupto
Pastor Leonard now moves into a focused teaching on a key Greek word that unlocks the entire message: “apochalupto.” This word appears in the original language, where English translations use “reveal” or “make known.” Pastor Leonard explains that this word is crucial for understanding how the Holy Spirit releases what is already inside the believer.
He begins by restating the verse they are examining:
“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit…”(1 Corinthians 2:10). Then he explains that the word translated revealed in English is the Greek word “apochalupto.” He pronounces it slowly and clearly: ah-pok-ah-LOOP-toe. Pastor Leonard then gives the definition:
Apochalupto = “to take the cover off, uncover, disclose, unveil.”He uses a vivid example to help listeners understand. He describes attending an unveiling ceremony at a museum or gallery. A piece of artwork sits hidden beneath a cloth covering. People gather around in anticipation as music plays or a drumroll builds. At the right moment, the covering is dramatically pulled away—and what was hidden becomes visible.
Pastor Leonard says, “That is what the Holy Spirit does in the life of a believer.” The Holy Spirit takes what God has already placed inside us—truth, righteousness, love, authority, inheritance, resurrection power—and uncovers it in the “gateway” (our soul: mind, will, emotions).
He is not giving the believer something new. He is revealing what they already possess.
Pastor Leonard emphasizes that this uncovering does not occur in the spirit of the believer, because the spirit already knows the truth fully. The spirit of man, united with the Spirit of God, already possesses the fullness of revelation. Instead, the uncovering takes place in the gateway of the mind, where understanding must align with spiritual truth. He reiterates that this unveiling only happens when the mind is renewed to the truth. The Holy Spirit does not uncover or disclose spiritual realities to an unrenewed, unbelieving mind. But when the believer hears the truth and believes it, the Spirit unveils it—effortlessly.
Pastor Leonard then connects this unveiling to faith. He says that when the Holy Spirit uncovers a truth, the uncovering itself releases faith. He clarifies that this faith is not something the believer must “work up,” strengthen, or grow like a muscle. It is not mental determination or intellectual effort. When truth is revealed, faith comes automatically.
To honor your instructions, he is commenting on this line from Scripture:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) He explains that faith comes when the Holy Spirit unveils a truth about Christ. That unveiling produces faith, which allows the truth to become active and experienced in the believer’s life.
He makes the point clear: Faith does not produce revelation—revelation produces faith.
He concludes this section by saying that everything in the life of a believer flows from this simple process:
- Hear the truth about Christ.
- The Holy Spirit uncovers it (apochalupto).
- Faith comes automatically.
- The power within is released outwardly.
Pastor Leonard calls the process beautifully simple: “No work. No effort. No toiling. Just rest and believe.”
The Four Scriptural Ways Power Is Released
Pastor Leonard now transitions into a major turning point of the teaching. After laying the foundation that everything we need has already been deposited into our born-again spirit, he announces that the apostle Paul gives four specific, scriptural ways that what is already inside us becomes uncovered, released, and experienced in our daily lives.
Pastor Leonard stresses again that these are not steps to earn anything from God. These are not works, efforts, or religious duties. They are simply four ways the Holy Spirit uncovers what is already within us, causing faith to arise and releasing the power of God in our lives.
He explains this slowly and clearly:
- These four ways are taught in the new covenant,
- They belong to the gospel of grace
- They are the too-good-to-be-true news about Jesus Christ and His finished work,
- And they are the simple pathways by which the believer comes into the experience of what Christ has already accomplished.
He repeats something he said earlier: “There is no toil, no striving, no effort. Just rest and believe.”
Then he outlines the four ways:
- The fact of His love for us
- The fact of our righteousness
- The continued hearing about Christ
- The fixation of our eyes on Jesus
Pastor Leonard tells the listeners that these four truths completely transformed Pastor Lori’s physical healing journey. He explains that when Pastor Lori understood these truths and her mind was renewed to them, the “gateway” opened, the power within her was uncovered, and she was able to believe and receive her healing—not as something she needed to persuade God for, but as something that was already hers in Christ.
He then prepares to take each of the four ways one by one, explaining them in detail and anchoring each one in Scripture.
Pastor Leonard emphasizes one last point before moving to the first way:
These four are the only ways the new covenant teaches that power is released. Everything fits under these four truths, and everything flows from them.
He invites the listeners to rest, believe, and enjoy the journey as the Holy Spirit uncovers what they already have.
Way #1: The Fact of His Love for Us
Pastor Leonard begins with the first and foundational way that the power within the believer is released: the fact of God’s love for us. He explains that this was the very truth that opened the gateway of Pastor Lori’s understanding and allowed the resurrection power already within her to manifest in physical healing.
He starts by turning to John 17:23, where Jesus Himself prays that believers would know the magnitude of the Father’s love. Pastor Lori reads the verse, and to follow your instructions, here is the full KJV text:
“I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (John 17:23)
Pastor Leonard pauses here because this truth is beyond comprehension for many believers: The Father loves us exactly as He loves Jesus. Not less. Not conditionally. Not partially. The same.
He emphasizes that Jesus prayed this specifically—that we would know it.
Then Pastor Leonard brings up another passage that reveals the enormous dimensions of God’s love. He refers to Ephesians 3:15-20, one of Pastor Lori’s favorite Scriptures, and he quotes from it as she listens with agreement. To honor your instructions,
“Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” (Ephesians 3:15–20)
Pastor Leonard then explains each phrase:
- “Rooted and grounded in love” — your entire spiritual life becomes stable when you know He loves you.
- “Comprehend… breadth, length, depth, height” — God wants you to explore the full dimensions of His love.
- “To know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge” — His love cannot be understood mentally; it must be revealed spiritually.
- “Filled with all the fullness of God” — when you understand His love, everything God has deposited in you becomes uncovered.
He tells the congregation that this is exactly how it worked in Pastor Lori’s healing. When she came to understand just how deeply God loved her — not conditionally, not occasionally, but fully and eternally — something broke open inside her. The Holy Spirit used the revelation of His love to uncover the healing that was already deposited in her born-again spirit.
Then Pastor Leonard references Galatians 5:6, where Paul reveals how faith operates. He quotes it directly, and here it is in full:
“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.” (Galatians 5:6)
Pastor Leonard explains that according to this verse, faith becomes energized (he uses the word “energized”) when love is realized. When a believer becomes aware of God’s love for them, faith rises effortlessly. Not by work. Not by trying to force belief. Love causes faith to come alive.
Pastor Leonard says this beautifully:
“When love is realized, faith is energized. "He emphasizes that this is not about our love for God—it is about His love for us.
Pastor Lori interjects, confirming that this was how her healing came. She recalls that as she grew in understanding the height, depth, width, length, and fullness of His love, she found herself no longer striving to believe. Faith simply came when she saw His love for her. The Holy Spirit “uncovered” what was always inside her.
Pastor Leonard summarizes the first way by repeating: “This is how it is released. The fact of His love for us.” He also notes that if he tried to list every Scripture on God’s love, “there wouldn’t be enough volumes to contain them,” referring to John’s statement that the world itself could not contain all the books describing what Jesus did. He uses this to reinforce that God’s love is overwhelmingly abundant.
He ends this section by declaring confidently, “You are loved. You are loved before you ever believed. You are loved before you ever changed. You are loved because He loves you. Nothing you do can make Him love you more, and nothing you do can make Him love you less.” And this revelation itself begins to release the power within.
Way #2: The Fact of Our Righteousness
Pastor Leonard now moves into the second way the power already within the believer is released: the fact of our righteousness.
He begins by asking Pastor Lori, “Are you righteous?”She confidently answers, “I am most certainly righteous.”
Pastor Leonard affirms this, explaining that through Jesus Christ, believers have been made the righteousness of God. Not a lower-class righteousness. Not a partial righteousness. God’s very own righteousness.
He turns to Scripture to build this truth, beginning with Romans 3:26, which he references aloud. Here is the full KJV text inserted per your instructions:
“To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” (Romans 3:26)
Pastor Leonard explains that God is just when He declares the believer righteous. He is not doing us a favor. He is not being lenient. He is being perfectly just because Jesus paid the full price for our sins. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, God can declare us righteous and remain perfectly fair, holy, and just in doing so.
He continues by quoting Romans 4:2, which he had referenced earlier:
“For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.” (Romans 4:2)
He uses this verse to show that no one becomes righteous by works. Not Abraham. Not any believer today. Righteousness is a gift, not something earned.
Then Pastor Leonard moves to a foundational verse: Romans 5:1. Here is the full KJV wording:
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”(Romans 5:1)
He emphasizes the phrase “peace with God.” He looks at Pastor Lori and says, “I’m at peace. You’re at peace with God, right?” She agrees. He explains that righteousness produces peace — not fear, guilt, or uncertainty. The believer is not trying to get right with God. They are right with God because of Christ.
Next, he quotes one of the clearest verses in Scripture on this subject, 2 Corinthians 5:21. Here it is in full:
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Pastor Leonard emphasizes the divine exchange that took place:
Jesus was made sin with our sin.
We were made righteous with His righteousness.
He explains that Jesus carried our sin to the grave, was buried with it, and was raised again in righteousness. And just as Jesus was raised in righteousness, we were raised with Him, fully justified.
Pastor Lori interjects with amazement, asking why so many Christians still call themselves “sinners saved by grace” when Scripture clearly says we have been made righteous. Pastor Leonard answers bluntly: “They don’t read the rest of the Bible.”
He then reinforces that righteousness is the second major way power is released because righteousness is what qualifies the believer. If a person believes they are unworthy, sinful, distant from God, or guilty, the gateway of their mind stays closed. But when they understand that they are righteous — fully, legally, eternally righteous through Christ — the gateway opens, revelation pours in, and the power of God within flows outward.
Pastor Leonard ends this section by summarizing what the believer must know:
- “I am righteous right now.”
- “My righteousness is God’s righteousness.”
- “Jesus became sin so I could become righteous.”
- “Righteousness gives me confidence before God.”
- “Righteousness opens the gateway for the Holy Spirit to uncover everything I already have.”
This revelation alone transforms the believer’s walk and releases the power within.
Way #3: The Continued Hearing of Christ
Pastor Leonard now moves into the third way the power within the believer is released: the continued hearing about Christ. He clarifies immediately that this does not mean hearing random Scriptures taken out of context, nor does it mean hearing sermons filled with law, works, and self-effort. It specifically means hearing about Christ, the Anointed One and His anointing — what He did, who He is, what He accomplished, and what that means for us today.
He begins by explaining that the word “Christ” literally means “the Anointed One and His anointing.” So when Scripture speaks of hearing “the word of Christ,” it means hearing the gospel — the good news about Jesus and His finished work.
Pastor Leonard then brings up the example of Peter at Cornelius’ house in Acts 10. He does not quote the full text, but he quotes Peter’s central message:
“You heard about Jesus, how He went about doing good, healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.”
Pastor Leonard points out that Peter didn’t preach law. He didn’t preach Moses. He didn’t preach commandments. He preached Christ — what Jesus did, who He was, and how the Father was with Him in power, love, healing, and deliverance.
Then Pastor Leonard explains something powerful:
As Peter spoke about Christ, he himself was reminded of what he had heard and seen about Jesus. And as he spoke it, the Holy Spirit fell on the listeners and they were baptized in the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues. This is because faith is tied to hearing about Christ, not hearing about self-effort or human wisdom.
Pastor Leonard emphasizes that every healing in the Bible follows the same pattern:
- Someone heard about Jesus.
- Faith came.
- The power was released.
There is no example of someone receiving without first hearing.
He then quotes Romans 10:17 to anchor this truth. Here is the full KJV text:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)
Pastor Leonard explains that this verse is often misunderstood. Many believe it means “faith comes by reading the Bible,” but he clarifies that in context, “the word of God” refers specifically to:
Faith does not come by hearing sermons on works, discipline, holiness by effort, or guilt. Faith comes by hearing the gospel, the message of Jesus, the Anointed One, and His finished work.
Pastor Lori supports this, adding that every time she hears the Word about Christ, it feels new — alive — even if she has heard the same Scripture hundreds of times. Pastor Leonard agrees and says the Word is alive and active every time it is heard, because Christ is the one being revealed.
Pastor Leonard reminds listeners that the gateway of the mind does not open through striving or trying to “build faith.” Instead, faith arrives automatically when Christ is heard. This is why the continued hearing of Christ is one of the main ways the Holy Spirit uncovers what is already within the believer.
He demonstrates the importance of repetition by reminding the audience:
“If you stop hearing Christ, you drift back to self-effort, guilt, rules, and spiritual frustration. But if you keep hearing Christ, faith stays alive because His voice keeps revealing truth.”
He ends this section by summarizing:
- Faith is not manufactured; it comes.
- It comes by hearing Christ, not hearing law.
- This is why the gospel must be heard continually.
- The more you hear about Jesus, the more the Holy Spirit uncovers the truth already inside you.
- As truth is uncovered, power flows effortlessly.
This prepares listeners for the fourth and final way power is released.
Way #4: Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus
Pastor Leonard now moves into the fourth and final way the power within the believer is released: the fixation of our eyes on Jesus. This truth brings the entire message into full clarity. If the first three ways open the gateway, this fourth way keeps it open and steady.
He introduces this by turning to Hebrews 12:2, a verse he refers to in this portion of the teaching. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)
Pastor Leonard emphasizes the opening phrase: “Looking unto Jesus.” He explains that this means fixing our eyes, attention, expectation, and focus entirely on Him — not on ourselves, not on our failures, not on our needs, not on our problems, and not on what we feel or see in the natural.
He makes it simple and practical:
- Don’t fix your eyes on the pain.
- Don’t fix your eyes on the doctor’s report.
- Don’t fix your eyes on the challenge.
- Don’t fix your eyes on the lack.
- Don’t fix your eyes on the sin or habit.
Fix your eyes on Jesus — the One who finished the work. Pastor Lori agrees, adding that when your eyes drift back to the problem, peace disappears. When your eyes fix on Jesus again, peace returns and faith rises naturally.
Pastor Leonard explains why this works: because Jesus is “the author and finisher of our faith.” He created your faith, He sustains your faith, and He brings your faith to completion. You don’t grow faith by effort — Jesus supplies the faith when you look at Him. He points back to the pattern seen throughout the New Testament:
Wherever people fixed their eyes on Jesus, miracles happened.
Peter walked on water as long as his eyes were on Jesus.
- The woman with the issue of blood received healing because she fixed her eyes on Jesus’ garment, not on her condition.
- Blind Bartimaeus received sight by calling on Jesus despite the crowd.
- The multitudes who came to Jesus for healing received because their eyes were on Him.
Pastor Leonard says it plainly:
“Faith cannot function when our eyes are on ourselves. Faith comes alive when our eyes are on Jesus.” He then connects this final way to the overall theme of the message:
- The first way: know you are loved.
- The second way: know you are righteous.
- The third way: keep hearing about Christ.
- The fourth way: fix your eyes on Him.
When the believer fixes their eyes on Christ, the Holy Spirit keeps the gateway open wide. Everything the spirit already knows flows into the soul and from the soul into the body and circumstances. Fixing your eyes on Jesus anchors you in rest and keeps the revelation active.
Pastor Leonard emphasizes that these are not “steps” that the believer does to earn anything from God. Rather, they are the simple, scriptural ways the Holy Spirit uses to uncover and release what God already put inside every believer the moment they were born again.
He ends this section saying:
“Fix your eyes on Jesus. Not the hurt. Not the need. Not the storm. He is the author. He is the finisher. Keep your eyes on Him, and the power within you will flow.”
Closing Encouragement
Pastor Leonard and Pastor Lori conclude the teaching with a powerful reminder that ties the entire message together: there is no work, no effort, and no striving in the new covenant. Everything the believer needs—identity, righteousness, love, power, victory, healing, wisdom, and transformation—has already been deposited within their born-again spirit through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Leonard emphasizes again that these four truths are not religious steps, formulas, or checklists. They simply describe the ways the Holy Spirit uncovers and releases what Christ has already placed inside us:
- The fact of His love for us
- The fact of our righteousness
- The continued hearing about Christ
- Fixing our eyes on Jesus
He explains that believers often ask for “steps” because they want to do something. Pastor Lori openly admits she used to feel this way. She says:
“I always wanted the steps. Give me the steps and I will do them. If I could only see A-B-C-D, I would do them.”
She shares how she longed for clear instructions, thinking that performing the steps would bring results. But Pastor Leonard lovingly reminds her—and the audience—that Jesus has already taken all the steps. The believer does not walk a staircase toward God; Jesus walked every step for us, and now we rest.
Pastor Lori acknowledges this with humility, saying she used to beg for steps and formulas. But Jesus’ gentle response was:
“I already took all the steps for you.”
Pastor Leonard reinforces this, ending the session with the simple gospel of grace:
- Rest.
- Believe.
- Receive what is already yours.
He reminds listeners that the gateway of the mind opens through revelation, not effort. And once the gateway is open, the resurrection power within flows naturally, effortlessly, beautifully.
The pastors finish by thanking everyone watching or listening. They express gratitude for every supporter, every encouraging message, every prayer, and every person who partners with their ministry. They emphasize their desire to keep spreading the gospel of Jesus—His love, His righteousness, and His finished work—to as many people as possible around the world.
They close with joy, encouraging believers everywhere to stay connected to the truth, continue hearing Christ, and live from the fullness they already possess in Him.
We pray this detailed article has blessed you and strengthened your understanding of the finished work of Jesus Christ. If this teaching encouraged you, please consider sharing it so others can experience the freedom, love, and power found in Him. May the Holy Spirit continue to uncover all that you already have in Christ, and may you walk each day in His rest, His righteousness, and His overwhelming grace.
