Teaching summary

In this message, Pastor Leonard and Pastor Lori Rola address one of the most misunderstood subjects in the Christian life—healing. Rather than teaching that believers must pretend they are already physically healed, they explain that healing was lovingly provided by God long before the foundation of the world and is part of the believer's inheritance in Christ. They emphasize that guilt, shame, and condemnation are never produced by God's truth but by religious tradition. The practical path to experiencing God's provision is not striving harder but resting in His love, worshiping Him, and continually hearing the message of Christ.

Introduction: Healing and the Problem of Religious Tradition

Pastor Leonard opens by welcoming viewers from many different nations around the world. While different countries celebrate different holidays, believers everywhere can enjoy fellowship together through Christ. He introduces today's subject by explaining that healing continues to be one of the greatest concerns among Christians.

He explains that much of the confusion surrounding healing has come from religious tradition, poor interpretation of Scripture, and inaccurate understanding of biblical truth. These errors have caused sincere believers to misunderstand God's heart toward them.

He reminds the audience of Jesus' warning regarding tradition.

Matthew 15:6- "And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition."

Pastor Leonard explains that whenever human tradition replaces the finished work of Christ, believers become confused about who God really is and what He has provided through salvation.

He says that the purpose of their ministry is to continually reveal believers' true identity in Christ—who they are, what they have already received through Christ, and what has been graciously provided for them through the New Covenant. He briefly references his book, "I Am, I Can, and I Have," explaining that understanding one's identity in Christ changes how every promise of God is viewed.

Guilt, Shame, and Condemnation Reveal False Teaching

Pastor Leonard explains that there is a simple way to recognize whether someone has been influenced by religious tradition instead of the truth of the New Covenant. The evidence is not found in how much Scripture they can quote or how spiritual they appear. Instead, it is found in the emotions they carry. If a believer is living under guilt, shame, or condemnation, those feelings are evidence that they have accepted traditions of men rather than God's heart toward them.

Returning to Jesus' words, Pastor Leonard reminds the audience that religious traditions can actually rob God's Word of its effectiveness.

Matthew 15:6- "And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition."

He explains that God is never the source of guilt. God is never trying to shame His children. God is never placing condemnation upon believers. Instead, Jesus removed condemnation through His finished work, and the New Covenant continually points believers back to their identity in Christ rather than to their failures.

Pastor Lori agrees, explaining that one of the greatest tragedies of poor teaching is that Christians begin examining themselves for reasons why God supposedly has not answered them. Instead of looking to Christ, they begin asking questions like:

"What did I do wrong?"
"Where did I fail?"
"What sin is preventing my healing?"
"Why isn't my faith strong enough?"

This constant inward focus becomes exhausting because every unanswered prayer becomes another reason to blame themselves. Pastor Leonard explains that this is the opposite of the Gospel.
Their ministry continually teaches believers about:

• Their new identity in Christ.
• What Christ has already accomplished.
• What has been graciously provided through salvation.
• The inheritance every believer possesses because of Jesus.|
Rather than producing fear, the Gospel produces confidence because everything rests upon Christ's finished work instead of human performance.

Personal Testimonies of Healing and Present Challenges

Pastor Leonard then becomes very personal. He shares that someone recently contacted him to say they had been praying specifically for his knee. He was surprised because he had not publicly discussed it very much. After talking with Pastor Lori, he realized she had previously mentioned the doctor's report to someone.

The medical diagnosis was very discouraging.
The doctors explained that:
• His meniscus was completely gone.
• His knee was bone-on-bone.
• Severe degenerative arthritis was present.
• A complete knee replacement was recommended.

Rather than denying the doctor's report, Pastor Leonard acknowledges exactly what the physicians found. However, he immediately explains that although the diagnosis is real, it is not greater than God's provision. He then reminds viewers that throughout his life he has already experienced numerous miraculous healings.

He shares that God has healed him from:

• Cancer.
• A torn rotator cuff.
• Kidney stones.
• COVID-19.
• Arthritis in his neck.
• Numerous other physical conditions.

These experiences have strengthened his confidence—not because healing always happens instantly—but because he has repeatedly seen God's provision become reality. Now he is believing God once again for the manifestation of healing in his knee. He says he is believing to access the provision that God has already made available. This leads directly into one of the central ideas of the entire sermon. For many years, Christians have commonly repeated the phrase: "You're already healed." Pastor Leonard explains that although Christ truly lives within every believer and His power dwells inside every Christian, he has come to believe that this popular statement often creates more confusion than faith.

Pastor Lori explains why. When believers hear someone say, "You're already healed," but they still experience pain, disease, weakness, or physical limitations, an internal conflict immediately begins.
They think:

"But I'm not healed."
"My body still hurts."
"I still have this disease."
"If I'm already healed, what's wrong with me?"
Very quickly the blame turns inward. People begin believing:

"My faith isn't strong enough."
"I must have unbelief."
"I didn't confess enough."
"I didn't command enough."
"I've failed somehow."

Pastor Leonard says this cycle inevitably produces exactly what they warned about at the beginning of the message:

• Guilt.
• Shame.
• Condemnation.
Instead of producing rest, the teaching places enormous pressure on believers to somehow manufacture healing through their own efforts. That pressure was never God's intention. Pastor Lori explains that the result is a constant inward examination instead of confidence in God's love. The believer becomes focused on personal performance rather than the finished work of Jesus. This kind of teaching leaves people emotionally exhausted because they continually wonder whether they have done enough to deserve healing.

Pastor Leonard says this realization caused him to begin reexamining many of the healing teachings he himself once accepted. He became convinced that there had to be a better understanding of healing that magnified God's grace rather than increasing human guilt.

Why %22You're Already Healed%22 Can Produce Condemnation

Pastor Leonard continues by explaining that one of the greatest problems with certain healing teachings is that they unintentionally force believers to deny reality. Instead of honestly acknowledging their situation while trusting God, they feel obligated to pretend nothing is wrong. He recalls how this philosophy affected both him and Pastor Lori during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Pastor Lori had been suffering from colonic inertia, a serious condition that greatly affected her digestive system. During that season, they had been taught that speaking honestly about sickness meant they were "owning" the illness or giving it power. Because of that teaching, Pastor Leonard says he became afraid to ask his own wife how she was feeling. He remembers thinking that if she answered honestly by saying she was struggling, then somehow they would be strengthening the sickness instead of believing God. Looking back, he says this simply could not be the heart of God. God desires husbands and wives to comfort one another.

He wants believers to pray for one another. He wants His people to carry one another's burdens. Pastor Leonard explains that refusing to acknowledge a struggle actually prevents believers from encouraging one another in love. Instead of bringing freedom, that teaching created fear. Pastor Lori shares how deeply this affected her personally. Whenever her mother would call to check on her condition, she had been trained to answer:
"I'm healed."
"I'm well."
"I'm healed."

However, after making those statements, her mother would naturally begin asking follow-up questions. "Wonderful! Are you able to eat now?" "Has your digestive system returned to normal?" "Are you feeling better?" At that point Pastor Lori found herself trapped. She either had to tell the truth about her condition or continue pretending everything had changed. Eventually she asked her mother not to ask about her health at all because she no longer knew how to answer without feeling guilty.

Pastor Leonard says this should never happen within the family of God. Teaching that prevents honesty while producing guilt, shame, and condemnation cannot be healthy doctrine. He openly admits that he himself once taught these ideas. He says he was guilty of presenting healing in a way that placed responsibility almost entirely upon the believer.
If healing did not manifest, the assumptions usually became:

"You don't have enough faith."
"You have too much unbelief."
"You didn't stand long enough."
"You didn't command enough."
"You didn't believe enough."

According to that system, if healing failed to appear, the believer became the problem. Pastor Leonard now rejects that conclusion. He explains that this mindset continually shifts attention away from Christ's finished work and places the burden back upon human effort. Instead of bringing peace, it leaves believers constantly examining themselves, wondering what spiritual step they have failed to take. Pastor Lori agrees that this creates an endless cycle of self-condemnation.

Rather than resting in God's love, believers become consumed with trying to earn what has already been graciously provided. This realization became the turning point that caused both of them to reevaluate how healing should be understood through the lens of grace instead of performance.

Faith Is Not Denying Reality

Pastor Leonard introduces a statement that he recently wrote, asking everyone to listen carefully because it summarizes the direction the Lord has been leading him.

Pastor Lori slowly reads the statement. "Real faith is not living in denial of the natural realm." Pastor Leonard immediately asks her to repeat it. She reads it again. He emphasizes that this single sentence corrects much of the confusion surrounding healing.

-Faith is not pretending that physical symptoms do not exist.
-Faith is not ignoring medical reports.
-Faith is not refusing to acknowledge pain.

Pastor Lori continues reading. "If the doctor says you have a tumor, it's silly to pretend that it's not there." Pastor Leonard immediately adds:"That's not faith."

Instead, the believer recognizes that there is a reality greater than the doctor's report. Pastor Lori continues. "However, faith is founded on the reality that is superior to the tumor." Pastor Leonard wholeheartedly agrees. A Christian can honestly acknowledge the diagnosis while simultaneously placing complete confidence in God's provision. The existence of a disease does not cancel the existence of God's promises.

Pastor Lori continues reading.
"I can acknowledge the existence of the tumor and still have faith in the provision of the stripes for my healing." She then reads what Pastor Leonard says is one of the most important thoughts of the message. "I was provisionally healed 2,000 years ago."

Pastor Leonard pauses to explain exactly what he means. He believes many Christians misunderstand this statement. The important truth is not that believers must pretend the healing has already physically manifested. Rather, God's provision for healing has already been secured through Christ. That provision exists independently of present physical circumstances. Pastor Lori finishes the statement. "It is the product of the kingdom of heaven, a superior reality." "There are no tumors in heaven, and faith brings that reality into this one."

Pastor Leonard says this beautifully describes how faith operates.

-Faith does not create God's provision.
-Faith receives what God has already provided.
-Faith looks beyond present circumstances to the greater reality of God's Kingdom.

This understanding removes pressure from the believer. Instead of trying to manufacture healing through perfect faith or flawless confession, believers can confidently trust that God's provision already exists and lovingly receive what He has made available.

Pastor Leonard explains that this understanding began changing the very language he used about healing. Instead of repeatedly saying, "I am already healed," he began saying, "My healing has been provided for." That difference may sound small, but to him it removes guilt while placing the focus back upon God's grace and His completed provision.

Healing Is a Provision, Not a Performance

After introducing the concept of "provisional healing," Pastor Leonard explains that he has continued studying the subject and has refined his understanding even further. He tells the audience that while he had been saying healing was "provided 2,000 years ago" through the work of Christ on the cross, he now believes Scripture reveals something even more remarkable.

He explains that the cross was the historical event where God's eternal plan was revealed and accomplished in human history, but God's intention to provide salvation, healing, forgiveness, redemption, protection, and every benefit of salvation existed long before creation itself. To demonstrate this, Pastor Leonard turns to the Apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians. Although Pastor Lori reads from the Amplified Bible during the sermon, the foundational passage is found in the King James Version.

Ephesians 1:4- "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love."

Pastor Leonard explains that this verse reveals something extraordinary.

Before Adam was created…
Before Eve was formed…
Before the earth existed…
Before sin entered the world…
God had already chosen humanity in Christ.

He emphasizes that this means God's relationship with mankind was never a reaction to sin. Rather, His love and His plan for redemption existed before there was ever a problem that needed solving. This truth changes how believers should think about healing. Healing is not God's reluctant response to sickness. Healing is part of an eternal provision flowing from God's love.

Likewise, financial blessing, forgiveness, redemption, protection, peace, righteousness, and every blessing associated with salvation were not ideas God developed after mankind fell. They were already included within His eternal purpose. Pastor Leonard tells the audience that this realization has transformed the language he uses.
Instead of saying: "My healing began at Calvary."

He now says: "My healing was already included in God's eternal plan before the world was ever created." This places healing within the larger picture of God's eternal love rather than simply viewing it as a response to human failure. He explains that every blessing believers receive today has its origin in God's heart, not merely in history. The cross revealed that love. The resurrection confirmed that love. But the plan itself originated before time began.

Pastor Leonard says this truth gives believers tremendous confidence because God's provision was never an emergency plan. It was always His desire.

God's Provision Existed Before Creation

Pastor Leonard then introduces another passage that strengthens this understanding. Pastor Lori reads from 1 Peter, again using the Amplified Bible during the teaching, but the foundational Scripture is the following passage from the King James Version.

1 Peter 1:19–20- "But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,"

Pastor Leonard points out the significance of Peter's words. Jesus was not chosen after Adam sinned. Christ was "foreordained before the foundation of the world." This means God's rescue plan existed before mankind ever needed rescuing. The provision came before the problem. God was never caught by surprise. He had already prepared redemption before creation itself.

Pastor Leonard briefly comments on the phrase "these last times." He says that on another occasion he intends to teach more thoroughly about the biblical meaning of "the end times." For now, he explains that in this context he understands it as referring to the end of the Old Covenant system—the end of the covenant of law and the end of humanity's attempt to establish righteousness through personal effort. He says this marks the conclusion of the "do-it-yourself" covenant and the full revelation of God's grace through Jesus Christ. Returning to the main point, Pastor Leonard explains that Peter's words confirm what Paul wrote in Ephesians.

Everything believers receive through salvation had already been determined in God's eternal plan.
That includes:

  • Redemption.
  • Forgiveness.
  • Rescue.
  • Protection.
  • Healing.
  • Every blessing contained within salvation.

He reminds the audience that the Greek word "sozo" (which he references during the message) encompasses far more than forgiveness alone. Salvation includes the many benefits God lovingly prepared for His children. Applying this personally, Pastor Leonard reflects on his own life. He says the provision for his current knee problem did not begin when the pain started. It did not begin when doctors diagnosed arthritis. It did not even begin at the cross. The provision for his knee existed before the world itself existed.
Likewise, God's provision for Pastor Lori's intestinal condition existed before creation.
The same is true for:

  • His previously healed rotator cuff.
  • His healing from kidney stones.
  • His healing from COVID-19.
  • His healing from neck arthritis.
  • Every other physical need he has ever experienced.

He emphasizes that these provisions have been waiting within God's eternal plan from the very beginning. Because of this, Pastor Leonard says he no longer describes healing by saying: "I am already healed." Instead, he prefers to say: "My healing was provided for before mankind was ever created." He believes this language more accurately reflects Scripture while avoiding the guilt and condemnation that many Christians have experienced. Healing is an inheritance. It belongs to every believer because of their union with Christ. It already exists within God's Kingdom, waiting to be received through faith. This leads naturally into Jesus' teaching about God's Kingdom. Pastor Leonard quotes the Lord's Prayer to show that heaven contains the reality believers long to experience on earth.

Matthew 6:10- "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

He explains that there is no sickness in heaven.
-There is no disease.
-There is no pain.
-There is no lack.
-The Kingdom of God contains the complete provision that God prepared before creation.

Believers are invited to participate in that Kingdom reality here and now. Rather than striving to convince God to act, they can rest in the assurance that His provision has already been lovingly established from eternity past. Pastor Leonard summarizes this section with a simple declaration he encourages believers to adopt: "My healing was provided for." He believes those words place the focus where it belongs—not upon human effort, but upon God's eternal grace and faithful provision.

Living From Your Heavenly Inheritance

Having established that God's provision existed before the foundation of the world, Pastor Leonard now asks an important practical question.

If healing has already been provided…
If it is part of our inheritance…
If it has been waiting for us since before creation…

Then how do believers experience that provision in their daily lives? He begins by asking a series of questions that many Christians have heard for years. "What do you do to make that provision a reality?"

"Do you need to stand?"
"Do you need to command?"
"Do you simply need to believe harder?

Immediately he answers his own questions. "No." He explains that each of those responses subtly shifts the responsibility back onto the believer. Instead of focusing on Christ and His finished work, the attention immediately returns to human effort.
The believer begins thinking:

"If I just stand longer…"
"If I command louder…"
"If I believe harder…"
"If I develop stronger faith…"

Eventually, once again, the focus becomes personal performance rather than God's grace. Pastor Lori immediately agrees. She explains that this returns people to the same exhausting cycle they have been discussing throughout the message. Everything once again becomes about what "I" must accomplish instead of what Christ has already accomplished.

Pastor Leonard shares that although he will never allow personal experience to override Scripture, he has learned valuable lessons by examining his experiences through the lens of Scripture. He explains his order of authority. First comes the Word of God. Then comes experience. Experience never interprets Scripture. Rather, Scripture helps believers correctly understand their experiences. Looking back over his own life, he realized that many of the healing methods he once emphasized were rooted more in mental effort than genuine faith. He recalls trying to mentally convince himself.

-Trying to command.
-Trying to stand.
-Trying to force faith.

Eventually he realized that true biblical faith operates very differently. Instead of becoming centered on human determination, biblical faith grows naturally out of a deep understanding of God's love. This leads him to another foundational biblical truth. He reminds believers that Scripture teaches them to become firmly rooted and grounded in God's love. He references Paul's prayer in Ephesians.

Ephesians 3:17–19- "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love. May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height. And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

Pastor Leonard emphasizes that believers need to know—not merely intellectually but personally—how deeply God loves them.

-They need to understand:
-The breadth of His love.
-The length of His love.
-The depth of His love.
-The height of His love.

He paints a beautiful picture by saying that God the Father has a picture of each believer "in His wallet." While clearly an illustration, his purpose is to communicate God's constant affection toward His children. He then points to another Old Testament passage that beautifully describes God's delight in His people.

Zephaniah 3:17- "The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing."

Pastor Leonard highlights the incredible truth contained in this verse. God is not reluctantly tolerating believers.

-He rejoices over them.
-He delights in them.
-He sings over them.
-He rests in His love toward them.

Understanding this changes everything. Instead of constantly striving to qualify for God's blessings, believers begin resting in the love that has already qualified them through Christ. He says this is the first and greatest "work" believers are called to perform. Rest. Rest in God's love. Pastor Lori adds an honest observation. Although resting sounds simple, many Christians find it difficult.

Years of religious teaching have conditioned believers to think they must constantly be doing something. They feel uncomfortable simply resting because they have been taught that spiritual success depends upon continual effort. Pastor Leonard agrees.

People often think:
"I should be commanding."
"I should be confessing."
"I should be doing something."

Yet God's invitation is to rest. Not laziness. Not passivity. But confident rest in the Father's love. This rest becomes the foundation from which faith naturally grows.

Having explained that healing is an inheritance rather than something believers earn, Pastor Leonard summarizes the practical application of the message by presenting three simple principles that help believers experience what God has already provided.

First Key: Rest in His Love

The first key is to rest. Not merely physical rest. Resting in the certainty that God loves you completely. Pastor Leonard explains that understanding God's affection for His children removes fear and striving. Instead of wondering whether God is willing to heal, believers begin living from the assurance that His provision has already been established. Rest becomes an act of faith because it trusts in God's goodness rather than in personal performance. Pastor Lori agrees that resting allows believers to become aligned with what God has already made available through Christ.

 Second Key: Praise and Worship

The second key is praise and worship. Pastor Leonard teaches that worship is not an attempt to persuade God to move. Instead, praise and worship awaken the believer's awareness of God's presence and release the faith that already resides within them. As believers worship, their attention moves away from their circumstances and back toward Christ. Pastor Lori explains that worship helps confirm within the believer what has already been provisionally given. The provision has never disappeared. Worship helps believers become more conscious of it. Pastor Leonard says he believes worship and praise are among the greatest "keys" that unlock the reality of what God has already prepared before the foundation of the world.

Third Key: Keep Hearing About Christ

The third key is continual hearing. Pastor Leonard reminds the audience that faith does not come from having heard a message years ago. Faith continues growing through ongoing exposure to the Gospel. He quotes Paul's teaching.

Romans 10:17- "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." He emphasizes that hearing should continually focus upon Christ.

 Believers should keep hearing:
-About His goodness.
-About His love.
-About His finished work.
-About His redemption.
-About His miracles.
-About His compassion.
-About the supernatural healings He performed during His earthly ministry.

As believers continually hear about Jesus, faith becomes energized. Then faith itself begins directing them. Instead of constantly asking, "What should I do?" faith naturally produces confidence and wisdom because it is rooted in Christ rather than self-effort.
Pastor Leonard summarizes the three principles one final time.

First:
Rest.
Rest in His love.

Second:
Praise and worship.
Continually worship and praise God.

 Third:
Keep hearing.
Keep hearing the message of Christ again and again.

He believes these practices position believers to experience the provision that has belonged to them since before the foundation of the world.

Three Keys to Experiencing God's Provision

Final Encouragement and Prayer

As the message comes to a close, Pastor Leonard shifts from teaching to encouragement. After explaining that healing has been eternally provided through Christ, he now speaks directly to those who are suffering physically. He tells viewers that the time has come to begin expecting God's provision to become reality in their lives. He declares that it is time for those who have been confined by sickness to rise in hope.

He speaks to people who have spent days, months, or even years battling physical limitations and reminds them that God's provision has already been made. He encourages those who are bedridden that it is time to get out of bed. He encourages those who depend upon wheelchairs that it is time to experience God's restoring power. He prays for those suffering with chronic pain, believing that pain can leave their bodies. He specifically mentions numerous parts of the body, believing God's provision extends to every physical need.

His prayer includes healing for:

  • The nervous system.
  • The central nervous system.
  • Feet.
  • Ankles.
  • Elbows.
  • Hearts.
  • Lungs.
  • Breasts.
  • Colons.
  • Prostates.

Rather than asking God to create something new, Pastor Leonard reminds everyone once again that the provision has already been established. He repeats the central message of the entire sermon: "The provision was made." He explains that believers are learning to receive what God has already lovingly prepared.

Through:

  • Resting in God's love.
  • Praise and worship.
  • Continually hearing the message of Christ.

The provision that already exists can begin manifesting in believers' lives. Pastor Lori then shares a passage that has become deeply meaningful to her. Although she quotes from another translation during the sermon, the foundational Scripture is Paul's prayer found in Ephesians. She reminds listeners that God's desire is for every believer to become deeply rooted in His love. She concludes by reflecting once more on Paul's prayer.

Pastor Lori emphasizes that believers are already seen by God as holy because of Christ. She encourages everyone to continually meditate upon the immeasurable dimensions of Christ's love. His love is deeper than they can imagine. His love is broader than they can comprehend. His love reaches further than human understanding. She points out that as believers become increasingly aware of God's love, they begin experiencing the fullness of God overflowing from within them. Pastor Leonard responds by emphasizing that this is exactly what he wants everyone to understand. The God who lives within every believer desires to overflow through every area of life—including the physical body. The more believers become established in God's love, the more naturally His life flows outward. He concludes by thanking everyone for joining them for the teaching. He expresses sincere appreciation for those who faithfully support the ministry through prayer and financial giving. Without pressuring anyone, he explains that the ministry depends upon the generosity of people who believe in sharing the Gospel of grace around the world. He invites anyone who feels led to visit their ministry website to learn about the available ways to give.

Finally, Pastor Leonard and Pastor Lori thank everyone for watching. They express their love for the audience, encourage them to join the next teaching, and close by reminding everyone that they are grateful for those who serve as God's hands extended to others through love and generosity.

Thank you for taking the time to read this teaching, "PROVISION WAS MADE." We pray that this message has encouraged your heart and strengthened your confidence in the finished work of Jesus Christ. May you continually rest in the Father's love, worship Him with thanksgiving, and keep hearing the good news of Christ until every provision He has made becomes an ever-growing reality in your life. If this message blessed you, please consider sharing it with your family, friends, church, or anyone who needs encouragement today so they too can discover the incredible provision God has made through His Son, Jesus Christ.
