Introduction: Life in God's Love
The message begins by highlighting the importance of living in God’s love. Life in His love is the most fulfilling place to be. Jesus came to give us abundant life, as seen in John 10:10: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly."
Jesus Came to Give Us Abundant Life
The abundance Jesus speaks of is a life overflowing with joy, peace, and fulfillment. This is not something we earn but a gift from God. Many people wonder, How do I deserve such a life? What must I do to obtain it? The answer lies in the finished work of Jesus.
How Are We Entitled to This Life?
Colossians 1:21-22 explains that even though we were once alienated from God due to sin, He has reconciled us through Jesus Christ. "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight." Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are completely restored in God’s sight. There is no longer any barrier between us and God.
Jesus Paid for Our Sins Completely
Jesus’ work on the cross eliminated every record of our sins. Colossians 2:14 states: "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross." Our sins were permanently removed, never to be retrieved again. This means we stand fully forgiven, without condemnation.
Understanding Our Righteousness in Christ
Through Jesus, we have been made righteous. 2 Corinthians 5:21 declares: "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." We are not partially righteous—we possess the very righteousness of God. This righteousness allows us to boldly live in His presence, knowing we are fully accepted.
The Astonishing Love of Christ
Ephesians 3:18-19 describes the magnitude of Christ’s love: "May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." This love is endless, intimate, and beyond human understanding. It reaches every part of our being and fills us completely.
Living Daily in God’s Love
God’s love is not just a concept—it is a daily reality. He wants us to enjoy His love, knowing we are fully embraced in it. Living in this love means knowing that nothing separates us from Him.
Letting Go of the Past
Many believers struggle with past mistakes. However, God wants us to look forward, not backward. Ephesians 3:20 assures us: "Now unto him that can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." God’s power is at work in us, and He desires that we live in His abundant blessings today.
Resting in His Love and Righteousness
The sermon encourages believers to take a deep breath and rest in God's love. We don’t have to strive for righteousness—it has been freely given. We can trust in His finished work and live in His peace.
Conclusion: Embracing a Full Life in Christ
Jesus came so we could enjoy life in its fullest measure. When we rest in His love, we walk in the abundance He intended for us. Let us embrace this life today, knowing we are fully loved and accepted by God.
