Teaching summary
In this message, Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola focus on the prayer found in Ephesians 3 and explain that believers possess unlimited riches of God's favor, grace, and power within them. They teach that many Christians fail to experience these realities because they walk by feelings and circumstances rather than by faith in God's Word. The key to releasing God's limitless power is becoming rooted and grounded in His love and continually renewing the mind with Scripture. As believers meditate on God's love and promises, the life and power of Christ already within them begin to flow outward in practical ways.

Introduction: The Ephesians 3 Prayer
Pastor Lori begins by explaining that she has been meditating on the prayer in Ephesians 3 for approximately fifteen years. She emphasizes that although she has repeatedly returned to the same passage over the years, the Holy Spirit continually reveals new truths and fresh understanding. This demonstrates that the Word of God is alive and active.
The pastors encourage believers not merely to read Scripture but to meditate upon it consistently, returning to it repeatedly so that its truths can become established in the heart.
Ephesians 3:16-20- "And that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."
The pastors also explain that they personalize the prayer, praying it in the present tense because they believe these promises already belong to believers in Christ.
Unlimited Riches of God's Glory and Favor
The phrase that captures Pastor Lori's attention is the concept of "unlimited riches" and "limitless favor." She explains that believers possess unlimited riches of God's glory and favor and that supernatural strength floods the innermost being with divine might and explosive power. The emphasis of this section is that God's resources are not limited. His grace, favor, strength, and power have no boundaries.
Ephesians 3:16- "And that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man."
The pastors encourage listeners to meditate on these truths because the human mind struggles to comprehend something that is limitless.
Walking by Faith Instead of Feelings
The pastors acknowledge that many believers face circumstances, sicknesses, challenges, and difficulties that make it difficult to feel as though God's favor and abundance are present. However, they stress that Christianity is not based on feelings.
2 Corinthians 5:7- "(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)"
They explain that believers are not supposed to determine truth by emotions, physical circumstances, or senses. Instead, they are to believe what God's Word says. As believers continually meditate on God's promises, the soul becomes transformed.
Romans 12:2- "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
The transformation of the mind allows the limitless riches of God's grace and favor to begin manifesting in practical experience.
The Life of Christ Released Through Faith
The pastors teach that faith is the means by which the life of Christ within believers is released.
Galatians 2:20: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
They emphasize that believers already possess the faith of the Son of God and that faith functions by agreeing with God's truth. They further explain:
Romans 10:17- "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
As believers hear about Christ—His love, mercy, grace, favor, and inheritance—supernatural faith is released from within them.
This faith brings healing, restores relationships, and releases God's provision and blessings.
Rooted and Grounded in God's Love
The pastors repeatedly emphasize that everything in the Christian life flows from understanding God's love.
Ephesians 3:17- "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love."
They teach that believers must make God's love their primary foundation. The resting place of God's love becomes the root and source of life; from this place, miracles, grace, favor, and spiritual growth flow naturally. The pastors explain that much of the Christian struggle stems from not being rooted and grounded in the reality of God's love.
Discovering the Magnitude of Christ's Love
Paul's prayer invites believers to discover the vast dimensions of Christ's love.
Ephesians 3:18-19- "May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."
The pastors explain that God's love is:
- Deeply intimate
- Far-reaching
- Enduring
- Inclusive
- Endless
- Beyond human measurement
The fullness of God, His grace, favor, and miraculous power all flow from understanding and resting in His love. Pastor Leonard candidly shares that he has at times questioned God's love because he was walking by feelings rather than by faith in God's Word. However, he explains that spiritual growth comes through continually learning and understanding the magnitude of God's love.
Never Doubt God's Power Within You
The pastors explain that God's power accomplishes everything discussed in Ephesians 3.
Ephesians 3:20: "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."
This power is not produced through human striving, effort, or self-improvement. It is God's power working within believers.
The pastors suggest that many believers experience God's power as though it is buried deep inside them because they walk by sight rather than faith and have not become established in God's love. Paul's prayer shows believers how to release what already resides within them.
Exceedingly Abundantly Above All We Ask or Think
The pastors marvel at the promise that God can do infinitely more than believers can imagine.
Ephesians 3:20- "Now unto him that can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."
God's miraculous power continually energizes believers. The pastors emphasize that God's plans and abilities far exceed human requests, dreams, and imagination.
Renewing the Mind and Plugging into God's Power
Pastor Leonard uses the illustration of a coffee maker plugged into an electrical outlet. The electrical power is always available, but unless the coffee maker is plugged in, the coffee is never made. Likewise, God's power is always present within believers, but many fail to experience it because their minds have not been renewed.
Romans 12:2- "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
As believers read, meditate upon, and continually return to Scripture, they become renewed in truth and experience the power that is already theirs in Christ.
Final Encouragement to Meditate on God's Word
The pastors encourage believers to read Ephesians 3 prayer repeatedly in multiple Bible translations and meditate upon it regularly. They explain that God's Word is one of the primary ways He speaks to His children.
Pastor Lori shares that the Ephesians 3 prayer has become a tremendous blessing in her life and that she often meditates upon its truths as she falls asleep.
Pastor Leonard encourages believers to memorize and paraphrase the truths of Scripture so they can continually speak them and live according to them. They also refer to the spirit of faith possessed by biblical figures such as Caleb, Joshua, David, and ultimately Christ Himself.
2 Corinthians 4:13- "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak."
Numbers 13:30- "And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it."
The message concludes with the encouragement that believers possess the same spirit of faith and can live according to God's promises rather than according to their circumstances.
We hope this article blessed you and encouraged you to meditate on the limitless power, love, grace, and favor that God has placed within every believer through Christ. Take time to read and reread the prayer of Ephesians 3, allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal its truths to your heart. Share this teaching with others so they too can discover the unlimited riches of God's love and the exceeding abundant power that works within them.
