Teaching summary
In this teaching, Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola explore the role of the Holy Spirit as our Holy Helper. They explain that even when we don’t know what to pray, the Spirit intercedes on our behalf, especially in times of sickness, weakness, or confusion. The sermon emphasizes our full qualification through Jesus’ finished work and the believer’s position of readiness in grace. God’s perfect will is prosperity, fruitfulness, and peace—not because of what we do, but because of what Jesus has done. Freedom, righteousness, and success are ours by faith alone.

Introduction: Grace-Filled Encouragement
Pastor Leonard begins with a heartfelt thank you to those who support their ministry. He emphasizes how their teachings aim to dismantle guilt, shame, and condemnation caused by inaccurate religious doctrine. Pastor Lori affirms the importance of connection with viewers beyond just being online ministers.
Romans 8:26 – The Holy Spirit Intercedes
They read Romans 8:26- "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
Pastor Leonard explains this verse is about those moments when we don’t know what to pray. The Holy Spirit steps in, pleading in harmony with God's will. They also read other translations for comparison but emphasize that the original KJV language shows how the Spirit helps our "infirmities"—a word that means more than just weakness.
The Meaning of Infirmities
Pastor Leonard breaks down the Greek meaning of “infirmities” as sicknesses, diseases, and frailty. He clarifies that although we have been healed through Christ, the manifestation of healing in our physical body is still a process. The Spirit helps in that gap.
The Process of Renewal and Healing
Referencing Paul’s writings, Pastor Leonard shares that renewal is a process. We are containers of the power of God, but until that power fully saturates our physical bodies, healing may not be physically realized. Yet, the Spirit continues to intercede and advocate on our behalf.
The Role of Jesus and Our Qualification
He reminds listeners that our qualification, peace, and righteousness before God are through Jesus alone. Jesus did the work, satisfied the Father, and made us fully qualified. Therefore, we must rest in what Jesus has done, not strive to earn what has already been freely given.
Luke 15: The Father's Grace
They reflect on the story of the Prodigal Son from Luke 15:22-24- "But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe… and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry." Pastor Leonard explains this as a perfect picture of grace—restoration before restitution. The father restores the son without asking him to make up for his past. That’s how grace works.
True Freedom Through Jesus
Quoting John 8:32- "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
And John 8:36-"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
They celebrate the reality that in Christ, we are truly free. We’ve been made righteous, justified, and sanctified. Just like we couldn’t escape sin before salvation, we can’t escape righteousness now—it’s who we are.
Joshua 1:8 and Rightly Dividing the Word
They read Joshua 1:8- "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night… then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have success."
Pastor Leonard explains that while this verse is true, it must be read through the lens of the New Covenant. Under grace, prosperity and success come not from our effort but from Jesus’ finished work. They then cite 2 Corinthians 1:20- "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."
Psalm 1:3 and the Fruit of Salvation
They read Psalm 1:3- "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." They explain this as a type of salvation. We are planted in Christ, the Living Water. Our fruit—whether healing, prosperity, or relationships—comes when needed. Our leaf (our covering) never withers. We remain clothed in righteousness.
Jeremiah 29:11 and the Expected End
They conclude with Jeremiah 29:11-"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Pastor Leonard connects this to Romans 4:25- "Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."
And Romans 5:1- "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." He teaches that God's perfect will is peace with us, secured through faith in Jesus. We now live in the expected end: righteousness, peace, and favor.
Closing Words on Knowing God’s Will
They conclude by reaffirming that knowing God's perfect will is knowing what Jesus has already accomplished. Prosperity, success, healing, and peace are fruits of salvation—not goals to strive for. The believer’s readiness and position are settled in Christ.
We hope this article has blessed you. Share this teaching with someone who needs to know the Holy Spirit is interceding for them, and that they are already qualified, already righteous, already free—because of Jesus.
