Teaching summary

In this sermon, Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola emphasize that healing and salvation come only through the name of Jesus. They remind us that every knee shall bow and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord, regardless of belief. By walking through Peter’s message in Acts 3, they show that miracles are not performed by man’s authority but through faith in Jesus’ name. The gospel is not about our works or effort—it is about fixing our eyes on Jesus, knowing His love, and receiving the freedom and healing He has already provided.

The Power of the Name of Jesus

The message opens with worship and exaltation of the name of Jesus. The pastors emphasize Philippians 2:10-11: "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Regardless of belief, the truth is that Jesus is Lord, and His name is above every name.

The Growth of the Gospel across the World

The pastors share statistics showing how the gospel has spread. In AD 100, one in 360 people believed in Jesus. Today, it is one in three worldwide. Despite negative news, the kingdom of God is growing, with massive churches and revivals across the world. This reflects Isaiah 9:7: "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

Denominations and the True Criteria for Salvation

The pastors remind us that denominations do not save; only belief in Jesus does. As John 1:12-13 says: "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail

Quoting Matthew 16:16-18, they emphasize that Jesus promised His church would stand victorious: " And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

Defeated Enemies and Renewing the Mind

The pastors stress that Satan has no power except what we give him. Believers must set their minds on truth. Romans 12:2 instructs: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Walking in Health and Prosperity Through Truth

Referencing 3 John 1:2:"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." Healing and prosperity flow as our minds are renewed and we rest in what Jesus has done.

What Peter Preached: Healing at the Beautiful Gate (Acts 3:2-10)

Peter and John encounter a lame man at the temple gate. Instead of giving money, Peter declares healing in Jesus’ name. The man rises, walks, and praises God. This miracle astonishes the crowd and demonstrates the living power of Jesus’ name.

Peter’s Sermon and the Source of Authority (Acts 3:11-26)

Peter preaches boldly, clarifying that it was not his power or authority that healed the man, but faith in Jesus’ name. Acts 3:16: "And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all." Peter shifts attention from himself to Jesus, calling people to repentance and faith. (Full KJV passage Acts 3:11-26 inserted here in the article.)

Faith in the Name of Jesus, Not Works

Faith is not a muscle to be worked but a gift from God. Romans 12:3 reminds us:  according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17) and is perfected by fixing our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2). It is energized by love (Galatians 5:6).

The True Gospel and the Power of Salvation

The gospel is more than forgiveness of sins; it includes redemption, healing, and wholeness. Romans 1:16 proclaims: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth." The pastors emphasize that miracles and salvation are manifested when Jesus is preached clearly, just as in Peter’s day, when thousands believed.

We hope this article has blessed you. The message of Peter reminds us that healing and salvation are not about our works or authority but about the finished work of Jesus. Fix your eyes on Him, believe in His name, and rest in His love. Share this teaching with others so they, too may experience the freedom, healing, and salvation that comes only through Jesus Christ.
