Introduction and Donna’s First Encounter with the Rolas

The video begins with Pastor Leonard Rola introducing himself, Pastor Lori Rola, and their guest, Donna Ronaldo. Pastor Leonard explains that Donna has a healing testimony that will encourage people who are believing God for healing and breakthrough in their own lives.

Donna explains that she first encountered the Rolas in 2022 while watching Andrew Wommack’s “Healing Is Here” conference online. She specifically remembered seeing Pastor Leonard and his daughter sharing a testimony. At the end of the program, she discovered that there was a Bible college extension in Fishkill, New York, close to where she worked. Donna felt prompted to visit. She attended during graduation season and briefly met Pastor Leonard, Pastor Lori, and others there. Although she initially wondered whether God was leading her to attend Bible college or church, she later realized that the Holy Spirit was simply introducing them to one another for a future purpose.

Pastor Leonard emphasizes the importance of not being led by emotions, feelings, or fleshly decision-making, but by the peace and leading of the Holy Spirit. He explains that there was no pressure for Donna to register for school or attend church because God was orchestrating events according to His timing and grace.

Reconnection During a Cancer Diagnosis

Three years later, Donna was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. During this crisis, she again found herself watching healing testimonies online. The same video featuring Pastor Leonard appeared before her once more, and she recognized it as no coincidence.

Donna immediately called Pastor Leonard. To her surprise, he answered personally while traveling in the car. They spoke for approximately forty minutes. Donna explains that she did not even know exactly what she needed from the conversation, but she felt strongly led by God to call.

Pastor Leonard mentions that he always answers or returns calls because he loves people and believes that following the Holy Spirit means following love.

During the conversation, Donna shared her diagnosis and described how she had been immersing herself in healing teachings and testimonies. Although she was aggressively pursuing healing through confession, authority, and spiritual effort, she still felt as though she was “spinning her wheels.” This conversation became a turning point for her.

The Diagnosis of Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Donna explains that triple-negative breast cancer is an aggressive form of breast cancer and that historically it had been viewed as a death sentence by many in the medical community.

Pastor Leonard asks her what the term means to an average person, and she explains that it is a specific subtype or strain of breast cancer that is considered very aggressive. The diagnosis caused Donna to intensify her search for healing teachings and spiritual answers. She consumed healing testimonies and teachings from many speakers, hoping to find the key to unlocking her own healing manifestation. However, despite all her efforts, she felt frustrated because something still seemed missing.

The Difference Between Formula and Grace

Donna explains that during her conversation with Pastor Leonard, he spoke to her about the difference between operating by formula and living under grace. She realized that she had been approaching healing almost like a system of spiritual performance — trying to say the right things, command properly, use authority correctly, and do all the “right” spiritual actions. Yet internally she remained burdened and unsettled because she was not seeing the results she expected.

Pastor Leonard explains that many believers become trapped in guilt, shame, and condemnation because they are doing everything they believe they are supposed to do spiritually, but are still not experiencing manifestation. He explains that this reveals the difference between works and grace. Pastor Leonard says that true peace comes from recognizing God’s love and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead from within. Healing is not about striving through fleshly effort but about being led by grace and the Spirit of God.

Donna realized that there was a “gap” between striving and resting that she had never fully understood before. She recognized that Pastor Leonard and Pastor Lori had once gone through similar struggles before learning to rest in God’s grace.

Freedom from Guilt, Shame, and Condemnation

Donna shares one of the deepest revelations she received during these conversations: she had never truly believed she was worthy of God’s love. She explains that although she intellectually understood grace and theology, internally she still believed God was disappointed with her because of her upbringing and religious background. Her spiritual focus had always been sin-consciousness instead of grace-consciousness.

Pastor Leonard explains that many Christians live under a mixture of covenants, trying to combine Old Covenant law with New Covenant grace. This mixture creates constant guilt, condemnation, inferiority, and feelings of failure.

Donna describes waking up feeling guilty even before doing anything wrong. She constantly felt like she was falling short and disappointing God. Pastor Leonard explains that this mindset comes from trying to live under both works and grace simultaneously. He says that believers must understand which covenant they are truly under.

Genesis 1:1- “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Revelation 22:21- “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”

Pastor Leonard explains that while the entire Bible is true from Genesis to Revelation, believers must understand covenant distinctions. Christians are no longer under the covenant that Moses or David lived under. Instead, believers live under the covenant of grace through Jesus Christ. He compares trying to operate under expired covenant principles to using an expired credit card that no longer works. Pastor Leonard emphasizes that grace is about gifted righteousness rather than earning righteousness through works. He explains that believers are fully qualified before God through Jesus Christ.

Donna says this revelation became the moment “the switch flipped on” inside her.

Understanding Covenants and Grace

Pastor Leonard continues explaining that believers often struggle because they are attempting to earn something that has already been freely given through Christ.

Donna realizes that she had spent much of her life believing she needed to become worthy before receiving God’s love and favor. Instead, she now began to understand that righteousness is received by faith.

Pastor Leonard explains that grace has no expiration date and that believers must learn to live from their identity in Christ rather than from striving and performance. This new understanding brought Donna into peace rather than constant spiritual pressure. She describes how the old mindset continually attempted to pull her back into fear and striving. Still, Pastor Leonard encouraged her to remain established in grace and continue renewing her thinking.

Renewing the Mind Through Scripture

Donna explains that after meeting with the Rolas in person for approximately an hour and a half, she remained in regular contact with them through daily devotionals and conversations. She also received Pastor Leonard’s books about love and righteousness, which deeply impacted her understanding. Most importantly, Donna says she felt led directly to the Word of God itself. She created audio recordings of scriptures on her phone and repeatedly listened to them daily. The scriptures specifically focused on grace, love, righteousness, and her identity in Christ. She describes this process as “deprogramming” wrong teaching from her subconscious mind.

Pastor Leonard identifies this process as renewing the mind.
Romans 12:2- “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Donna explains that she repeatedly listened to the same scriptures until they came alive within her. She says the verses themselves were not new, but her understanding of them became entirely different because revelation had entered her heart. Pastor Leonard encouraged her to remain in that place until she was no longer merely hearing truth intellectually but actually living from it internally.

Revelation and Spiritual Understanding

Donna explains that revelation completely changed her journey. Rather than trying to force healing through spiritual effort, she began allowing God’s love and truth to transform her thinking from the inside out.

Pastor Leonard compares this process to Jesus walking with the disciples on the road to Emmaus after His resurrection.
Luke 24:27- “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.”

Luke 24:31-32- “And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?”

Pastor Leonard explains that revelation occurs when God opens a person’s understanding to truly comprehend Scripture beyond intellectual knowledge.
Donna says this new revelation became the greatest transformation in her healing journey.

Preparing for Part Two

Toward the conclusion of Part One, Pastor Leonard explains that the next part of the testimony will focus more specifically on Donna’s diagnosis, the medical choices she faced, the decisions she made under the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the outcome of her healing journey.

The discussion closes with anticipation for the continuation of the testimony and gratitude for the spiritual transformation that had already taken place through grace, revelation, and renewed understanding.
