Teaching summary
In this short but impactful teaching, Pastor Leonard Rola encourages believers to understand the power of grace and right thinking. He explains how generous giving opens the flow of grace and how focusing on God’s love leads to transformation. Using the example of Jesus’ transfiguration and Paul’s exhortation in Romans 12, Pastor Leonard shows that true change begins within the soul through the renewing of the mind. Introduction: A Thankful Heart and the Grace of Giving
Pastor Leonard begins by expressing deep appreciation to the church community for their love, support, prayers, cards, and financial gifts. He affirms that “grace gives generously,” and this generosity opens the flow of grace in a believer’s life. As believers give to the Kingdom, God ensures not only provision for ministry but also abundance for the giver’s enjoyment.
He says, “Grace is generous. Grace gives generously. And as you do, you open up the flow of grace and the release of grace in your life.” This generous flow grows and multiplies, bringing both sufficiency for Kingdom work and overflow for everyday life.
The Power of Right Thinking
Continuing the week’s theme, Pastor Leonard reminds listeners of the spiritual law: “Where your attention goes, the power flows.” He connects this to right believing, right thinking, and right speaking.
He emphasizes that man is a spirit-being, with a soul (mind, will, and emotions) housed in a physical body. Transformation occurs when the soul is renewed. The only way the inner power of the spirit is released outward is through the renewal of the soul.
Pastor Leonard points out that this is not a mental struggle, but a restful and peaceful place of growing in the understanding of God’s love, which is revealed by the Holy Spirit.
The Transfiguration: Metamorphosis Revealed in Jesus
Pastor Leonard turns to Mark 9:2-3:
"And after six days Jesus took with him Peter, and James, and John, and led them up into a high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can whiten them."
He teaches that what the disciples witnessed was the glorified Christ—His true inner nature shining forth. Jesus was not changed into something new but rather revealed in glory. The brightness of His being radiated outward, even transforming His clothing to a brightness whiter than any bleach could produce.
Pastor Leonard emphasizes the Greek word used here: "transfigured", which is metamorphu—meaning “to change into another form.” This inner transformation shining outward is key to understanding the flow of God’s power.
Romans 12:2 and the Renewed Mind
The same Greek word metamorpho appears again in Romans 12:2:
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Pastor Leonard explains that just as Jesus was transformed outwardly by the glory within, believers also experience transformation, not from the outside in, but from the inside out. This change takes place in the soul, specifically through the renewing of the mind.
He quotes the Passion Translation: “Be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through the reformation of how you think.” This transformation does not bring something new to the believer—it simply allows what already resides within to flow outward into reality. Healing, peace, prosperity—they are all already finished and inside the believer. The key is to reform the mind to think like heaven.
Living from the Inside Out
Transformation isn’t striving—it’s resting in truth. Pastor Leonard affirms that believers are already:
“You are loved. You are holy. You are righteous. You are perfect. You are complete. You are healed. You are prosperous.”
He urges the audience not to let the flesh or soul deceive them into thinking otherwise. Instead, they must keep their eye gates and ear gates single—only letting in truth, grace, and the light of Christ.
He emphasizes focusing on:
-
Truthful things
-
Righteous thoughts
-
Words of grace
-
Jesus alone
This focus enables the inner truth to be released, and the transformation becomes visible.
He also references Proverbs 23:7: "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…"
This affirms that our inner thought life shapes our experience. Pastor Leonard concludes this section by saying, “To think right is to be right. Where your attention goes, the power flows.”
Final Encouragement: Keep Your Attention on Jesus
As the 10-minute mark approaches, Pastor Leonard closes with heartfelt encouragement. He reminds viewers again that right thinking is not effort-based but spirit-led. The transformation that took place in Jesus on the mount of transfiguration is the same transformation available to every believer through the renewing of the mind.
The power is already in you—your job is to focus, believe, and receive.
We hope this article blessed you. Share this teaching with someone who needs to be reminded of the power of grace and the importance of right thinking. Transformation is not far off—it’s already in you, waiting to shine through. Keep your attention on Jesus, because where your attention goes, the power flows.
