Teaching summary

Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola teach that God placed markers throughout His Word to reveal who Jesus is and to show believers who they have become in Christ. Just as Jesus recognized what was written about Him in the Scriptures, believers must discover and believe what God says about them. These markers declare that believers are loved, righteous, holy, sanctified, perfect, complete, healed, rich, and wise. When the mind becomes convinced of these truths and agrees with the regenerated spirit, the reality of what God has already provided can flow through the believer’s life.

Opening Thanks and God’s Provision Through His Children

Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola begin by warmly greeting everyone. Pastor Leonard affectionately compliments Pastor Lori before turning everyone’s attention toward the Word of God.

They thank the viewers for everything they do for the church and ministry. They specifically acknowledge the cards, letters, and financial offerings people send. Those acts of generosity help keep the church and ministry operating.

Pastor Lori describes the viewers as God’s hand extended. Pastor Leonard explains that God often meets needs through His children. God provides resources to His children so they can give, support ministries, and meet the needs of other believers. God then continues to provide, creating what Pastor Leonard calls an amazing cycle of divine provision.

Aleph and Tav: The First and the Last

Pastor Leonard introduces the subject of Aleph and Tav. He encourages anyone who missed the previous Sunday’s message to go back and listen because most Christians have never heard teaching about Aleph and Tav and are unaware of its significance.

He recalls asking one of his college teachers whether that teacher was familiar with Aleph and Tav and believed it had any significance. The teacher said that he had never heard of it and did not believe it was significant. Pastor Leonard strongly disagrees and presents what he has learned as something powerful and important.

Aleph and Tav are the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet, just as A and Z are the first and last letters of the English alphabet. Pastor Leonard compares them with the Greek title Alpha and Omega, which Scripture uses for the Lord.

Revelation 1:8– “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
He also speaks of Jesus as the first and the last.

Revelation 22:13– “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

Christians frequently use the phrase “Alpha and Omega” in songs, sermons, and teachings. Pastor Leonard explains that if the same truth were expressed through the Hebrew alphabet, the equivalent would be Aleph and Tav: Aleph being the first letter and Tav being the last.

Pastor Leonard then explains that ancient Hebrew letters had symbols associated with them. He says the ancient symbol connected with Aleph was a bull. Pastor Lori connects this with the blood of bulls and goats.

Hebrews 10:4– “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”

Pastor Leonard says the ancient symbol associated with Tav was a cross. He finds it remarkable that the first and last letters carry pictures associated with a bull and a cross. In his view, this makes it difficult to dismiss Aleph and Tav as insignificant.

The Hidden Aleph-Tav Marker in the Hebrew Scriptures

Pastor Leonard explains that the untranslated Hebrew sign formed by Aleph and Tav appears approximately 7,300 times in the Old Testament writings. He says scribes faithfully preserved it even though they did not understand why it was present.

Those copying the Scriptures recognized that they had to be precise. Even if they did not understand the purpose of Aleph and Tav, they transcribed it exactly as it appeared.

Pastor Leonard explains that Aleph and Tav frequently function grammatically as a direct-object marker in Hebrew. Although people did not understand its deeper significance or whom it might be marking, Pastor Leonard says there was one who did understand.

He points out that the Aleph-Tav combination appears in the first verse of the Bible.

Genesis 1:1– “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Pastor Leonard explains that when this verse is read in Hebrew, the untranslated Aleph-Tav marker appears within it. He connects that marker with Jesus as the first and the last. The marker then continues to appear thousands of times throughout the Old Testament.

For Pastor Leonard, these appearances are important because they point toward Christ throughout the written Word. What might appear insignificant or mysterious to others becomes a marker revealing the presence and identity of Jesus.

Jesus Found Himself in the Volume of the Book

Pastor Leonard asks Pastor Lori to read Hebrews 10:7. He introduces the passage by saying that Jesus never questioned the markers.

Hebrews 10:7– “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.”

Pastor Leonard acknowledges that believers may have read this verse without understanding its significance. Jesus says that He came to do God’s will and that something was written about Him “in the volume of the book.”

Pastor Leonard teaches that the volume of the book contained the markers through which Jesus discovered who He was. The Scriptures showed Him His identity, purpose, mission, power, and what He was capable of accomplishing.

Jesus did not question what the Scriptures declared about Him. He accepted the markers and came into agreement with what God had written.

Jesus as Fully God and Fully Man

Pastor Leonard says this reveals something very important about Jesus being one hundred percent God and one hundred percent man. As God, Jesus knew who He was, understood His mission, and possessed miraculous power. As a man, however, His human mind, will, and emotions had to grow in understanding and come into agreement with God.

Pastor Leonard explains that Jesus’ human understanding had to increase. His flesh and soul had to come into complete agreement with the spiritual reality of who He was. His mind, will, and emotions were instructed by the Word of God regarding who He was, whose He was, and what He could do.

The markers in Scripture were therefore present for Jesus. Through the written Word, His human understanding came into agreement with His divine identity and mission.

Pastor Leonard considers this revelation especially powerful because it provides a pattern for believers. Jesus trusted the markers written about Him, and believers are likewise called to trust the markers God has placed in His Word for them.

Believers Must Find Their Markers

Pastor Leonard explains that human beings are spiritual beings. The born-again spirit knows what it is capable of doing and knows that it has been made like God. The difficulty lies with the natural mind, will, emotions, and flesh, which do not always agree with that spiritual reality.

Just as Jesus had markers showing Him who He was, what He possessed, and what He could do, God’s Word contains markers for believers. The believer’s soul must discover these markers and become convinced of them.

The mind must come into agreement with the Word so that the soul becomes fully compatible with the spirit within. The issue is not persuading the born-again spirit of its identity. The spirit already knows. The issue is renewing the mind until the believer’s thoughts, will, and emotions agree with what God has already made true in the spirit.

Pastor Leonard begins identifying several of these markers. They reveal that believers are loved, righteous, holy, sanctified, perfect, complete, healed, rich, and wise.

The Marker That You Are Loved

The first marker Pastor Lori reads is, “You are loved.”

Pastor Leonard points to Jesus’ prayer in John 17:23. Jesus desired that people would know that the Father loves them even as He loves Jesus.

John 17:23– “I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”

Pastor Leonard emphasizes that believers are loved. He refers to his book about the two greatest forces of power in the life of a believer, explaining that the first of those forces is love. He says Scripture contains many markers revealing how greatly God loves His children.

The believer must not treat God’s love as uncertain or distant. God’s Word identifies being loved as a settled part of the believer’s identity. According to the marker Jesus gave in His prayer, the Father loves believers as He loves Jesus.

The Marker That You Are Righteous

The next marker is, “You are righteous.”

Pastor Leonard identifies love and righteousness as two powerful forces in a believer’s life. Many people do not believe they are righteous because they have not found or understood the markers in God’s Word. Some people respond by quoting that there is none righteous.

Romans 3:10– “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.”

Pastor Leonard explains that such people do not recognize the markers describing what God has done for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 declares that believers have been justified by faith and have peace with God through Jesus.

Romans 5:1– “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

The next marker is found in Romans 8:30. Those whom God called, He also justified, and those whom He justified, He also glorified.

Romans 8:30– “Moreover whom he did predestine, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”

Pastor Leonard then turns to 2 Corinthians 5:21. Jesus, who knew no sin, was made sin for believers so that they could be made the righteousness of God in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:21– “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

These are markers declaring the believer righteous. Pastor Leonard says the believer must find these markers and allow the soul to become convinced of them. The mind, will, and emotions must agree with the inner person, who already possesses the righteousness received through Christ.

The Marker That You Are Holy

The next marker is, “You are holy.”

Pastor Leonard distinguishes between being holy and trying to become holy. He does not present holiness as something believers must earn through their performance. He declares that holiness is already part of the new person God created within them.

He points to Ephesians 4:23-24, which tells believers to be renewed in the spirit of their minds and to put on the new man.

Ephesians 4:23-24– “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

Pastor Leonard explains that the new man was created in true righteousness and true holiness. The believer’s responsibility is to put on that new man through the renewing of the mind.

Renewal occurs in the soul and in the spirit of the mind as believers find these markers and agree with them. Rather than working to create holiness through human effort, the believer recognizes the true holiness God has already placed within the new man.

The Marker That You Are Sanctified

The next marker declares, “You are sanctified.”

Pastor Leonard says believers do not have to work toward becoming sanctified through a series of steps. The marker in God’s Word says they are sanctified.

He cites Hebrews 10:14, which declares that through one offering, Jesus perfected forever those who are sanctified.

Hebrews 10:14– “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

Pastor Leonard receives this verse personally as a marker God placed in Scripture for him. Just as God placed markers in His Word for Jesus, He placed markers there for every believer. The believer can therefore thank the Father for the marker declaring that Christ’s one offering has already accomplished sanctification.

The Marker That You Are Perfect

The next marker is, “You are perfect.”

Pastor Leonard openly acknowledges that there are days when he makes mistakes. During those times, the flesh may tell him that he is not perfect. The marker in God’s Word, however, tells him that he has been perfected through Christ.

Hebrews 10:14– “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

His born-again spirit knows this truth even when his flesh argues against it. The one sacrifice of Jesus perfected the sanctified forever. Pastor Leonard then cites Ephesians 4:13, which speaks of believers coming into the unity of the faith, the knowledge of the Son of God, and the measure of the stature of Christ’s fullness.

Ephesians 4:13: “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”

Pastor Leonard presents this as another marker. The unity of faith involves coming into the knowledge of the Son of God and recognizing the perfect man created in Christ.

The flesh may point toward failures, but the Word points toward what the sacrifice of Jesus accomplished. The believer must allow the scriptural marker to define spiritual identity rather than allowing human mistakes to overturn God’s declaration.

The Marker That You Are Complete

The next marker is, “You are complete.”

Pastor Leonard tells Pastor Lori that she is complete, and Pastor Lori responds that believers lack nothing. Pastor Leonard asks what they lack, and the answer is, “Nothing.”

This marker comes from Colossians 2:10.

Colossians 2:10– “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”

The believer’s completeness is found in Christ. Jesus is the head of all principality and power, and those who are in Him are complete.

Pastor Leonard presents this not as a distant goal but as a present reality. The marker does not say believers may eventually become complete. It declares that they are complete in Christ.

The Marker That You Are Healed

The next important marker is, “You are healed.”

Pastor Leonard says the believer’s soul must come into agreement with what the inner person already knows. He identifies Romans 8:11 as one of his principal verses for driving home this truth.

Romans 8:11– “But if the Spirit of him that raised Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in the believer. Pastor Leonard explains that this same Spirit will revitalize, renew, restore, and give life to the believer’s mortal body.

Pastor Leonard calls this a marker God placed in His Word for believers. The soul must agree with the truth that the life-giving Spirit who raised Christ from the dead now lives within them.

The Marker That You Are Rich

The next marker is, “You are rich.”

Pastor Leonard anticipates the objection that God wants believers to be poor. He refers to the biblical phrase “poor in spirit.”

Matthew 5:3– “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

He then distinguishes that expression from the marker he is discussing. He says God placed a marker in 2 Corinthians 8:9, declaring that Jesus became poor so believers could be made rich through His poverty.

2 Corinthians 8:9– “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

Pastor Leonard addresses this marker personally to himself, Pastor Lori, and the viewers. Jesus became poor so that through His poverty believers might be rich.

Pastor Leonard says that when the word translated “rich” is examined in Greek, it speaks of an abundance of material blessings. He therefore rejects the idea that this verse refers only to being spiritually rich. He receives it as a marker of God’s provision and gives thanks to Jesus.

The Truth of “I Am, I Can, and I Have

Pastor Leonard explains that many more markers can be found throughout Scripture. This is why believers must search the Word and discover them.

He refers to another book he wrote built around the declarations “I am, I can, and I have.” He says that if the way believers are reading or understanding Scripture does not establish what they are, what they can do, and what they possess in Christ, then the passages are being wrongly translated or understood.

His reason is that the Father has made believers like Jesus. Because of their identity in Christ, believers can truthfully recognize what they are, what they can do, and what they have received.

This does not come from pride in human ability. It comes from agreeing with what the Father accomplished through Jesus and what He placed within the born-again spirit. The markers direct believers away from natural limitations and toward their identity and inheritance in Christ.

The Marker That You Are Wise

The final marker discussed is, “You are wise.”

Pastor Leonard imitates the common response of someone who believes he must pray to obtain wisdom. He explains that the wisdom and understanding already present within the believer must come from within and be released. He points to 1 Corinthians 2:16 as the marker establishing this truth.

1 Corinthians 2:16– “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

The believer has the mind of Christ. Pastor Leonard teaches that wisdom is therefore not entirely external or absent. The wisdom of Christ is already present within the believer’s spiritual identity and must be allowed to come forth.

Pastor Leonard asks Pastor Lori whether she can think of any additional markers. She says she is still loving and thanking the Lord for all the markers they have already discussed.

Becoming Convinced and Rejecting Religion’s Lies

Pastor Leonard points out that he and Pastor Lori did not rehearse this discussion. They did not plan what they would cover or how they would present it. He describes the message as coming from God and the Holy Spirit specifically for the viewers. He assures the viewers that they are deeply loved by God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He and Pastor Lori also express their love for them.

The central instruction is to find the markers and become convinced of them in the soul. As the mind, will, and emotions accept what God has declared, they come into full agreement with the born-again spirit. Pastor Leonard says that when this agreement occurs, the miraculous will flow. He confidently states that both he and God guarantee it.

Pastor Leonard also warns that another voice may rise when believers discover these markers. Because of the influence of religion, that voice may say, “I am not righteous. I am not complete. I am not perfect. I am not holy.” The markers directly answer those objections.

Romans 5:1– “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2 Corinthians 5:21– “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Ephesians 4:23-24– “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

Hebrews 10:14– “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

Colossians 2:10– “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”

Pastor Leonard calls the religious objections lies. The Word says the believer has been justified, made righteous, created in true holiness, perfected through Christ’s offering, and made complete in Him. Believers must allow God’s Word, rather than the accusing voice of religion or the flesh, to tell them who they are.

Let the Holy Spirit Help You Find the Markers

Pastor Lori closes by assuring believers that they will find the markers and do not need to be afraid. Someone may wonder how they will recognize them, but she explains that believers are spiritual beings and their spirits know the truth.

As believers read the Word, the Holy Spirit will cause the markers to stand out. Something within will recognize the truth and respond, “That is me. I found the marker.”

Pastor Leonard agrees but repeats his warning that religion may produce a competing voice that questions what God has said. The proper response is to let the Word speak. God’s declarations must have greater authority than religious tradition, natural feelings, past failures, or outward appearances.

The pastors encourage everyone to search the Scriptures, find the markers, and believe them. Pastor Leonard and Pastor Lori close by expressing their love for the viewers and saying they will see them again in a couple of days.

We hope this article blessed you and helped you recognize what God’s Word declares about your identity in Christ. Share this teaching with others so they, too, can find and believe the markers God has placed in His Word.
