Teaching summary

In “Complete the Renovation Part 2,” Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola teach believers how to experience full transformation by renewing their minds according to the truths Paul shared in Romans. They emphasize that believers are justified, righteous, and at peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ—not by works or law. Through the Holy Spirit’s love, union with Christ, and the power of grace, believers can live victorious lives free from sin and fear. The teaching encourages every Christian to live with the awareness that they are one with Christ, empowered by His Spirit, and led by grace into transformation.

Introduction: Continuing the Renovation

Pastors Leonard and Lori Rola greet their viewers with warmth, beginning their session joyfully, expressing love and appreciation to everyone watching. This teaching, titled “Complete the Renovation Part 2,” continues from part one, focusing on how the Apostle Paul instructs believers to renew their minds in order to experience transformation. Pastor Lenny reminds everyone that this message builds upon the previous teaching and encourages those who missed part one to watch it first for continuity.

Justified by Faith (Romans 5:1)

The first scripture explored is Romans 5:1-"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Pastor Lenny explains that the phrase “being justified” means we are already justified. It is not something we are working toward, but something that has been completed in Christ. He emphasizes that being justified means being made righteous before God, just as if we have never sinned. Sin is no longer a factor in our standing with God.
He repeats with conviction that we are justified and righteous—freely, without earning it. “Freely” means it cannot be earned or worked for; it is purely received by faith in Jesus Christ. Because of this, believers have peace with God. He notes how many people today try to avoid God, thinking He is angry or disappointed in them. But that comes from the wrong covenant—the covenant of law, which says, “I must, I should, I have to.” Under grace, we understand that righteousness and peace are gifts.
Through faith in Jesus, we can now approach God without fear, knowing He loves us just as He loves Jesus.

The Love of God in Our Hearts (Romans 5:5)

Next, they turn to Romans 5:5– "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

Pastor Lori and Pastor Lenny joyfully share that believers never have to feel ashamed, because the Holy Spirit fills their hearts with God’s love. The Holy Spirit acts as our “cheerleader,” constantly reminding us how much God loves us.

They illustrate this truth with a personal story about their daughter, Allison, who ran track and field. Pastor Lori would stand at the starting line, encouraging her by shouting, “You got this, Ally!” while Pastor Lenny waited at the finish line cheering her on. This represents how God supports us throughout life. The Holy Spirit motivates and strengthens us as we live by faith, assuring us of God’s unchanging love.

Pastor Lenny declares that nothing we do can make God love us more or less—His love is constant and perfect.

United with Christ in Death and Resurrection (Romans 6:4-5)

They continue with Romans 6:4-5- "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection."

This passage teaches that believers are united with Christ—buried, raised, and living together with Him. Pastor Lenny emphasizes that we cannot be separated from Christ. When God the Father looks at us, He sees Jesus, because we are one with Him. Renewing our minds to this truth—that we are united with Christ in His death and resurrection—brings transformation and empowers us to live in newness of life.

Freed from the Dominion of Sin (Romans 6:14)

The fourth scripture shared is Romans 6:14: "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."

Pastor Lenny explains that under the system of law, sin dominates people because they rely on their own efforts—trying, working, and striving. But under grace, believers are free from that system. When we live in awareness of being united with Christ, sin and sickness lose their dominion. Renewing our minds to this truth allows transformation to manifest in our lives.

Led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14)

They read Romans 8:14- "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

Pastor Lenny elaborates that the word “led” means “taken” or “carried.” It signifies being lovingly guided by the Holy Spirit, away from what we should not do and toward what we should do. The Holy Spirit carries us, not by force, but through love and unity with Christ.

He explains that it is no longer “me,” but “we,” or even “He”—Christ working in us. He shares a personal story from his victory over cancer. During his weakness, he consumed only 200–400 calories a day and could barely move. Pastor Lori once called a church leader to say he could not attend service, but when she walked by, she saw him shaving and preparing to go. Pastor Lenny said, “He is getting ready,” meaning Christ in him was doing the work.

He reminds believers to renew their minds to this truth: "For in him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28). He continues with Galatians 2:20: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lived in me." It is never “me.” It is always “He” or “we.” Christ carries, leads, and sustains His children.

Renewed and Quickened by His Spirit (Romans 8:11)

The next scripture is Romans 8:11- "But if the Spirit of him that raised Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

Pastor Lenny shares how this verse became his anchor during his cancer journey. God gave him a personal word—“You will live and not die.” After receiving that promise, he took down all his posted scriptures except this one. His faith was renewed as he believed that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead was working in him.

He points out that the word “if” could be read as “since”—since the Spirit of God dwells in us, He will quicken, revitalize, and renew our mortal bodies. This is not theory but reality for every believer united with Christ.

Be Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mind (Romans 12:2)

Paul’s central message, they explain, is found in Romans 12:2- "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…" Transformation comes by renewing our minds to the truths Paul wrote in his letter—about justification, righteousness, grace, and union with Christ. When we do, we experience the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Through renewal, Christ’s life and character are revealed through us, permeating every part of our being and touching every area of life.

The Power of Hearing the Word (Romans 10:17)

They close by reminding believers that transformation comes by faith, and Romans 10:17- "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Faith grows as we continue to hear and meditate on God’s Word. We don’t need “more faith”—we already have the faith of the Son of God. As we hear and believe, our minds are renewed, and transformation naturally follows.

Closing Thoughts

Pastors Leonard and Lori end by encouraging everyone to rewatch “Complete the Renovation Part 1” for a fuller understanding of Paul’s message. They remind believers that transformation does not come by works but by believing what Jesus has done and renewing our minds daily. They express their love and gratitude to all listeners, declaring, “We love you. Be renewed. Be transformed.”

We hope this article has blessed you. Share this teaching with your friends and family so they too can experience the joy of transformation through God’s grace. Remember, the renovation of your mind is complete in Christ—walk in His peace, love, and power today.
